A voice actor might have just revealed the first character for GTA 6 through a celebratory Facebook post.

As reported by GTA and Battlefield insider Tom Henderson, voice actor Dave Jackson shared a celebratory post on his Facebook, announcing that he'd been hired for the role of Captain McClane in GTA 6 which, if true, would be the first concrete detail we've heard on the game.

The post from Dave Jackson reads, "So... I found out from the producers, that it's official; I will play the role of police chief CAPTAIN McCLANE in the new Grand Theft Auto series, I didn't have the heart to tell them that I didn't really have the time for it! Haha! Yep... someday I WILL take a nap! I know it! I JUST KNOW IT! haha! Seriously, it is a privilege to work with such a professional and fun group of folks. If you are a gamer, stay tuned..."

If Jackson's post is true, he's going to have a very strongly worded email from Rockstar at some point in the future, as he's likely breaking NDA by saying anything about a new GTA game being in development. Even though it's the worst kept secret in the industry, Rockstar hasn't formally announced the game yet and is likely going to be very protective about official details coming out.

Jackson's comments here are interesting in that they potentially reveal that casting auditions and hiring have begun for GTA 6, giving us a bit more of an idea of how far along in development it is. Casting is still a pretty early process, but it implies that most of the characters and scripting have been decided, and that voice work will begin in the near future.

Previous leaks for GTA 6 have implied that the game will be released in 2025 and will feature an evolving map and dual protagonists. These rumours were corroborated by several insiders.
