There is so much crafting in Void Terrarium 2 the game could have been named "Void CraftStation 2," and no one would have batted an eye. We don't mean this as a dig. On the contrary, crafting is one of the most rewarding and vital components of VT2's experience!

VT2's crafting system, with its vast assortment of items and demanding requirements, can appear intimidating at first glance. However, once you break down each step, crafting from a blueprint becomes as straightforward as cooking a TikTok recipe! So let's address this one step at a time.

Blueprints Are The Base

The Inventory+ Plan 2 Blueprint, listed in Void Terrarium 2's archive.

The first step to crafting a new item is acquiring its blueprint. Blueprints are foundational items containing a list of necessary resources and materials to craft an object. Furthermore, blueprints are not expendable. In other words, you can craft unlimited items from a single blueprint if you own the required ingredients.

There are several ways you can unlock new blueprints.

  • Talk To factoryAI: Whenever factoryAI assigns you a new quest, it will often require that you craft a new item. In these situations, factoryAI will always supply you with the necessary blueprint.
  • Scavenge From Wastelands: There are many blueprints to discover on your wasteland expeditions. Like any item, you must walk over one to pick it up. In addition, you must leave enough space in your inventory to store the blueprint. Once your expedition ends, the new blueprint will get added to your collection.
  • Complete VRWorld Quests: Completing VRWorld quests often require you to craft from blueprints given to you by Saya. She'll send them to factoryAI to provide directly to you. Furthermore, completing VRWorld quests rewards new blueprints, which you'll also receive from factoryAI.

Resources Are Your Building Blocks

Items get converted to resources after one of Robbie's expeditions in Void Terrarium 2.

Once you acquire a blueprint, your next step is to collect the blueprint's ingredients. The most common elements are resources, the essential components of every item in the wastelands. There are four resource types:

  • Organic Resources: These resources come from living organisms. One item that provides significant organic resources is Bio Gel.
  • Inorganic Resources: These resources come from mechanical beings and appliances. Weapons and bombs often provide the most inorganic resources.
  • Energy Resources: These resources provide electrical energy. Therefore, energy resources are most prominent in batteries.
  • Contaminated Resources: These resources are contaminated by mycelium. Therefore, they're most prominent in contaminated items. When a wasteland experiences a severe weather blight, you'll harvest more contaminated resources.

After every expedition, the unused items remaining in your inventory will get converted into these four resources. Once you convert your new resources, they're ready for crafting!

Materials Are Your Special Ingredients

Robbie finds an important crafting material inside the Residential Area in Void Terrarium 2.

Unlike resources, you won't always need materials to craft from a new blueprint. However, when you do, it will often be for a rare or quest-specific item. For example, the Cell Enhancer + medicine that attaches Toriko's weak limbs requires two significant materials: Clean Water and a Chipped Syringe.

You'll only find materials by venturing into the wastelands. When the material is essential for a quest, factoryAI will tell you where you can find it. But you'll have to search for rare materials unassisted if they're irrelevant to a current task. Like any other item, materials are marked with light blue squares on the map. However, you'll notice them on the field because they're contained in small beige envelopes. Furthermore, quest-specific materials have an exclamation point above them, making them hard to miss.

Crafting Gives Robbie Stat Bonuses

The Small Rock blueprint's craft bonus gets activated in Void Terrarium 2.

Crafting as much as possible is a quick way to get ahead in Void Terrarium 2. Why? Because each new blueprint rewards a stat buff the first time you craft from it! These are called first-craft bonuses. They're the only way to provide Robbie with improved permanent stats that carry over between expeditions.

There are many first-craft bonuses you can receive. But they're not all for Robbie. Some bonuses improve the terrarium, your vault, and Toriko's health! Here are some examples:

  • Base ATK+
  • Base DEF+
  • Base HP+
  • Memento Item+
  • Inventory+
  • Slow Toriko's Hunger
  • Vault Capacity+

Types Of Items You Can Craft

Since crafting is a core mechanic of VT2, there are hundreds of items to create. So, what can you produce? The game sorts item blueprints into several categories:

It's common for these categorizations to intersect, especially when regarding scenario-specific items.
