Walmart Canada's website just went nuts, with pre-order icons for all sorts of unannounced games appearing out of nowhere. Titles like Borderlands 3, Rage 2, and Gears of War 5 have not been referred to in any official capacity, and yet players can see prices and pre-order information about them on the site. With E3 coming in a month, this mistake has lead to speculation, confusion, and general amusement from gamers.

Twitter user Wario64 was the one to spread the news, complete with a screencap of the listings in question.

As you might notice, the unannounced games are mixed in with titles we know are coming. Super Smash Bros. for Switch, the Final Fantasy VII remake, and Metroid Prime 4 are there, as are games that seem inevitable like a new Assassin's Creed. This lends the "leak" some credibility.

However, there are also some head-scratchers on the list. Forza Horizons 5 is listed, which is quite a feat as it is both a misspelling and for some reason skips the nonexistent Forza Horizon 4. Dragon Quest 2 is also strange, as that game came out years on the NES. Unless it means a sequel to Dragon Quest Builders or Dragon Quest Heroes. However, Dragon Quest games tends to skip Xbox, while this listing puts it as releasing on Xbox One. These could very well be the typos or misunderstandings of a Walmart employee who got an E3 briefing but knows nothing about games. They could also be evidence that this list is nothing but lies.

If any group of people is not buying into the Walmart leak, it's Bethesda. The company's official Twitter account offered some friendly corrections to Walmart Canada's mishandling of its Rage branding:

Unfortunately, the listings can't be viewed anymore save for Wario64's screenshot. Walmart Canada seems to have taken them down. Again, unfortunately, this can't really be taken as an indication of anything in particular. They caught some heat, so they quickly removed the incriminating entries. All fans can do now is continue speculating and wait for E3. Or at least, wait until next week when another retailer inevitably leaks something else.
