Warframe is a game with many currencies that players need to keep track of. Arguably the most common of the bunch are Credits, a currency that's required for just about everything. Want to level your Mods? You'll need Credits. Crafting an item? It's going to cost Credits. Want to play The Index? You'll need Credits to get in.

With how many Credit sinks are in Warframe, you'll be wanting a large stockpile at all times. Fortunately, you have quite a few options for farming Credits. This guide will cover four Credit farms that range from beginner spots to endgame activities. We'll also give a few tips on earning Credits if you're going to farm this resource for a few hours or aren't interested in farming at all.

Credit Farming Tips

Warframe Khora In Sanctuary Onslaught

Before we dive into farming strategies, there are two things we need to briefly cover:

  1. Ways to increase your Credit earnings.
  2. Sources of Credits that don't require farming.

If you're just looking for Credit farms, skip past this section. For newcomers or those that want a refresher, here are some credit farming tips.

Ways To Increase Credit Earnings

Warframe Chroma Prime and Gram Prime
  • Purchase a Credit Booster: This will double all Credit earnings for a set duration.
  • A three-day booster costs 40 Platinum.
  • Your first mission grants double Credits: Each daily reset, the first mission you complete will give twice as many Credits. This stacks with Credit boosters. Your bonus does not apply to Credit caches, however, so this won't buff Index earnings.
  • Use Chroma's Effigy: Chroma's Effigy ability gives a chance for enemies to create a shower of Credits on death. More importantly, Credits that drop near your Effigy are worth twice as much, stacking with other Credit boosters. This only works for physical Credit drops, so this won't work for the Index.
  • Effigy works on the Profit Taker.
  • Bring a Smeeta Kavat: The Smeeta's Charm buff occasionally grants the "Affinity" boon, doubling all pickups for a short time. This applies to Credits you pick up off the ground. Charm does not apply to Credit caches.
  • This buff can rarely stack on itself, granting even more loot.
  • Farm during the Thermia Fracture event: Venus has a recurring event called Thermia Fracture. Should enough players participate during the event, all Credit and resource drops on Venus are worth twice as much. This applies to the Profit Taker fight.
  • You can view event progress from the Star Chart menu under the "Events" tab. Note that this tab only exists if an event is active.

Ways To Earn Credits Without Grinding

Warframe Harrow Featured
  • Sell spare parts: Access your inventory menu and search for any of these items:
  • Harrow Chassis
  • Orvius Blade
  • Orvius Disk
  • Creds (Past seasons only)
  • Sell Mods: You can sell spare Mods for a few thousand Credits each. Earning millions of Credits this way will require bulk selling.
  • Run Sorties: Completing the daily Sortie grants 100,000 Credits without boosters. Run it daily to slowly build up your Credit supply.

Beginner Credit Farm: Dark Sectors

Warframe Tikal Earth Dark Sector
  • Credits: 16-20K per run (avg. 5 minutes)

If you're a newer player that doesn't have access to The Index just yet, we highly recommend you farm Dark Sectors. These are special endless missions that grant bonus rewards on completion. Each planet (except Deimos) has two Dark Sector nodes to choose from. Completing any of them grants anywhere from 16,000-20,000 Credits. They don't scale based on time spent in the mission, so you'll want to complete the main objective and evacuate as soon as possible.

The best Dark Sectors to farm are Excavation missions. Tikal, Earth is one of the best since it's unlocked quite early. You'll be able to access this node right after you acquire an Archwing. If you don't have an Archwing and desperately need Credits, farm any Dark Sector node that's available to you. Run the mission until you're able to evacuate, then leave the mission. It's far from the best Credit farm, but it's a great choice for newer players that don't have many options in the early game.

Casual Credit Farm: Railjack

Warframe Railjack Map Veil Proxima
  • Credits: 100,000 per run (avg. 5-10 minutes)

Railjack is a surprisingly good source of Credits if you're looking for a more laid-back approach. Skirmish missions in the Veil Proxima grant around 100,000 Credits per clear, taking just a couple of minutes for a skilled group with a good Railjack build. Solo players will want their Command Intrinsics leveled to access AI Gunners and Engineers. Thankfully, unlocking the first few Intrinsic levels is quite easy.

We recommend farming Grineer Skirmish missions in the Veil Proxima, preferably the node with a Sentient Anomaly active. Skirmish missions with an Anomaly are quite short and only contain one Grineer side objective. Set your AI crew to man the Railjack's side guns, then fly across the map. Destroy the ships, complete the first side objective, then clear the Sentient ship. With the Paracesis or any hard-hitting weapon, the Anomaly shouldn't give you much issue. Each run only takes a few minutes and grants a sizable chunk of Credits, allowing you to earn over 1,000,000 Credits per hour solely by playing Railjack content.

Fast Credit Farm: The Index

Warframe The Index Investment Menu
  • Credits: 125,000 per wave (avg. 3-5 minutes)

A Credit farming guide wouldn't be complete without mentioning The Index. Players will gain access to The Index upon reaching Neptune. This game mode sets the player against various Corpus minibosses that drop tokens on death. Your goal is to grab those tokens and deposit them. The more tokens you grab, the more points you'll get but the lower your HP will be.

Select the High-Investment option if you're planning to farm Credits. Your goal is to complete two rounds. Each round you complete grants 125,000 Credits, taking around three to five minutes. Warframes that are tanky or have exceedingly high DPS work the best here. We recommend you use any of these Warframes:

  • Wukong: Celestial Twin makes short work of the enemies and draws aggro away from you.
  • Excalibur Umbra: Switch to your Operator and let Umbra do all the killing.
  • Rhino: Iron Skin doesn't get debuffed from tokens, making him an incredibly safe choice.
  • Titania: Arguably the fastest Warframe for doing this. Use Razorwing as much as possible.
  • Bring a weapon with Radiation and Cold: Most Index enemies are weak to either Radiation or Cold. Snipers and AoE weapons are recommended.

The Best Credit Farm: Profit-Taker

Warframe Profit Taker Orb
  • Credits: 125,000 per kill (avg. 5-8 minutes with an exceptional build)

We saved the best (and the hardest) for last. The Profit-Taker Orb in the Orb Vallis is the best Credit farm in Warframe for endgame players. Defeating the Orb causes it to drop 125,000 Credits. This is far better than the Index since you can scale the Profit-Taker Orb's Credit drops with Chroma's Effigy, the Smeeta Kavat's Charm buff, and even the Thermia Fracture event. With a Credit Booster and Chroma's Effigy, you can earn 500,000 Credits a run. Throw in another boost, and now you're earning a million Credits per run.

So why isn't the Profit Taker mentioned in other Credit guides? Simple: it's extremely hard. It's the closest thing Warframe has to a raid boss. Here's what you need to solo it:

  • A Chroma build with as much Strength and Duration as possible.
  • Check our Chroma guide for what we recommend using.
  • You'll also need Primed Sure Footed and Arcane Nullifier.
  • The Zenurik Focus school or Energy Pads.
  • An endgame Archgun build.
  • Endgame builds for your primary, secondary, and melee weapons.
  • Each weapon needs to cover at least two elemental damage types, more if possible.

We aren't joking when we say this is extremely difficult to beat by yourself. If you don't fulfill all of those conditions, we highly recommend you get a team together before farming the Profit-Taker Orb. The fight itself is quite simple. You'll need to track down the Orb, damage its shields with the matching element—Void damage from your Operator swaps the Profit-Taker's shield vulnerability—then use your Archgun to damage its limbs. Break the pylons it spawns afterward, then repeat until the boss dies.

It's tedious, filled with Corpus enemies that drain your Energy, and the boss requires min-maxed guns to kill quickly. But if you fill all of that criteria, you can kill this boss in five minutes with some practice. Place Chroma's Effigy right under the Orb when it dies, grab your loot, then make your way back to Fortuna. Repeat the fight until you have enough Credits. You can earn millions of Credits in an hour if you're fast enough. It's the toughest Credit farm in Warframe, but it's also the most rewarding.
