The servers for Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade shut down as of September 10, meaning that the game is no longer playable in PvP or PvE modes. It is also no longer available to download on Steam either.

Eternal Crusade was developed by Dead by Daylight studio Behaviour Interactive in 2016. It never quite lived up to its initial expectations, receiving an overall ‘Mixed’ Steam review and ‘Mostly Negative’ recent reviews. It received a 52 on Metacritic, with a user score of 4.7. The developer announced that the game would begin sunsetting in June, finally leading to a total shut down only a few days ago.

Behaviour Interactive released a short message upon the server shutting down: “Hello Crusaders, as previously announced, today we have officially sunset the game. As part of the shutdown, all personal data related to Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade has been removed. We are proud of all of the work that went into Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, and for the amazing community that rallied behind the game. Thank you for everything, we appreciate all of your support through the years. Thank you for this adventure.”

Elsewhere in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters released a cinematic trailer late last month. Daemonhunters is a tactical turn-based RPG and tells the story of a squad of the Grey Knights, a group of genetically-enhanced Space Marines who are devoted to purging the corrupting forces of Chaos.

Publisher Frontier Foundry talked a bit about the game after the trailer release:

"Armoured in faith and shielded by devotion, the Grey Knights are humanity’s greatest weapon in the 41st Millennium. Controlling a Strike Force of these superhuman Daemonhunters, players will experience the visceral, brutal combat the Warhammer 40,000 universe is renowned for, while following the journey of these battle-brothers in a narrative penned by acclaimed New York Times bestselling author, Aaron Dembski-Bowden."

While no specific release date has been mentioned for Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, it’s expected to launch some time in 2022. It will be available exclusively on PC, via both Steam and Epic Games Store.
