Action-adventure title Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is easily the type of game you could put over 200 hours into, and a lot of players already have. It may look simple at first, mechanically, but the game has an absurd amount of subtle depth that min-maxers seem to adore. Plus, with all the DLCs and added modes (like the Chaos Wastes), it makes it such as steal to pick up.RELATED: Total War: Warhammer 2: The Best DLCs in the Game, RankedOne of the best parts about it that only adds to the game's approachability, is the official and modded realms that let all of you add whatever fan-made mods you want.On the official server, only mods that have been reviewed and approved can be used, so we'll only be talking about Steam Workshop-approved mods on here.

10 Vermintannica By Fracticality

First up is Vermintannica (previously named Beastiary). Basically, it’s a fan-made codex of all the mobs in the game, or at least that’s all it used to be. Nowadays it also works as a model viewer, as well as the hub for tons of information on weapons and all the different character classes.

Vermintannica can easily tell you everything you need to know to make a build specifically towards killing certain types of enemies, or what exactly to do to counter certain enemy types you've been struggling against.

9 Crosshair Kill Confirmation By Pixaal

Next up is the first of many “minor mods”, meaning modifications to the game that make a specific aspect of the game more approachable, the Crosshair Kill Confirmation mod. For this one, you get Call of Duty-esque hit markers that'll confirm kills.

With the long-range characters like Kerillian or Sienna, sometimes it’s a bit hard to tell if you’re killing enemies from far away or not. But, with this tool, that's no longer a problem. You can even set different shapes for different enemy types, so you can tell at a glance if your bomb killed an elite, a special, or just a regular mob.

8 Armory By Fracticality

Another mod made by Fracticality, the armory mod is the one for anyone who loves to crunch the numbers, master their favorite weapon type, or just min-max their build. While Vermintide 2 might just look like something similar to the Left 4 Dead games, and at first glance it is, there's a lot more numerical depth overall.

Now, thanks to the Armory mod, planning out a specific build for a specific subclass is a whole lot easier. You can see how much damage certain attacks do with a weapon, how long the swing takes to come out, how much stamina it has, and a whole slew of other things as well.

7 Numeric UI By Necrossin

Warhammer-Vermintide-2---Numeric-UI-And-The-Numbers-It-Applies-To-Health,-Ammo,-Etc-2

The Numeric UI Mod created by Necrossin is by far the most useful Warhammer Vermintide 2 Mod out of them all. With a glowing recommendation like that, it must change the game completely, right? Well, not really, this mod just gives numbers to a lot of the UI in-game that used to be unclear.

For example, it tells you, numerically, how much health and temp health you have, how much ammo your teammates have left, and how long until each teammate's ability is back up. It sounds simple, but knowing all that info at a glance makes such a huge impact on your overall experience.

6 Friendly Fire Indicator By NonZeroGeoduck7

Warhammer Vermintide 2 - What The Normal Damage Indicator Looks Like And How The Friendly Fire One Looks Different

Just like in many other games of this type, Vermintide makes sure to tell you if an enemy hits you from a direction out of view so you know which way to turn immediately. Normally, this is with a wide red arrow near whatever side of the screen the attack came from. With this Friendly Fire Indicator mod, when an ally hits you, that arrow will be green instead of red.

To be fair, it’s impossible to get through Vermintide without accidentally hitting teammates with attacks a number of times. But, with certain characters, like Sienna, this mod is helpful for training yourself to be more cautious with certain attacks or to figure out which habits of yours lead to the most friendly fire since your allies will be able to hold you more accountable.

5 Reroll Improvements By Prop Joe

Warhammer-Vermintide-2---How-The-Reroll-Improvements-Mod-Looks-In-Action-2

The Reroll Improvements mod is likely the least impactful mod out of all of them, but also one of the most popular. And, like all the others, it pretty accurately describes what it does in the title. Basically, when you reroll the properties on a weapon, the game throws that weapon back into your inventory, and you have to hover over it again to see what changed.

But, with this mod, the weapon stays right there in the Reroll slot, and it tells you right underneath it in big letters what new modifiers were added. Again, a very small addition, but with how often you’ll be modifying weapons (and crafting them) overall, it's well worth adding.

4 Scoreboard Tweaks By Prop Joe

Warhammer-Vermintide-2---A-Look-At-The-New-Section-Of-The-Scoreboard-In-The-Scoreboard-Tweaks-Mod-2

Vermintide’s scoreboard system is necessary, sure, but it actually hurts teamwork a lot more than it helps on average, especially with non-veteran players. Because the scoreboard puts big circles around the winning statistic for every stat on the scoreboard, you'll be subconsciously incentivized to try and get more kills, do more damage, or get more headshots than the rest of your team. This sounds like a good thing, but people tend to go overboard and risk getting everyone killed for some extra kills themselves.

All that said, the only thing this Scoreboard Tweaks mod does is add an additional stat to track, how much friendly fire damage each player wracked up. It’s likely one of the least necessary mods on here, but still worthwhile for all the same reasons as the Friendly Fire Indicator one was.

3 Skip Intro By Blblbl(rus)

Warhammer-Vermintide-2---Starting-Up-Vermintide-2-And-Seeing-That-Cinematic-Every-Time-2

For some reason, the build-up to the actual title menu for so many games is a test of patience in of itself. The sheer amount of logos, pretty animations, and cinematics that stand between you and the “Continue Game” prompt can be absurd sometimes, especially in games that are designed to be played in a small window of time, such as roguelikes.

Vermintide 2's version of this, isn’t that bad, but it does have some logo cinematics and an intro cutscene players have to hold a button to skip every single time they launch the game. With other games, you can just delete the MP4 files in the install folder to avoid these, but, with Vermintide 2, this Skip Intro mod serves the same purpose.

2 Needii By Tomoko

Warhammer-Vermintide-2---What-Needii-Looks-Like-When-Looking-At-A-Consumable-In-Game-2

You may have noticed a trend by now, that 90 percent of all the Vermintide 2 mods are simple changes that just make the online experience a bit more approachable. That's right, Vermintide 2 mods aren't like Skyrim ones that almost create a whole new game from the framework of the original. No, primarily, they just make Vermintide a bit more user-friendly. The Needii mod by Tomoko is just another example of that, this time in regards to item pickups.

Basically, this mod just gives you an order of icons above every potion, sack of ammo, or other consumables that tell you which party member needs this item the most. It’s not a perfect mod as it doesn't take every little variable into consideration, but it does do a lot to stop you from being “that person” who takes all the health potions when another teammate needs it much more.

1 No-Wobble By SkacikPL

Warhammer-Vermintide-2---A-Screenshot-Of-The-Camera-Wobbling-Slightly-Before-Using-The-No-Head-Bob-Mod-2

The final mod on here is the No-Wobble mod by SkacikPL. Most games these days have a “weapon sway” or “head bob” accessibility option for their camera, especially if it’s a first-person game. But Vermintide 2 doesn’t, and the sway on some melee weapons is especially bad and can make some players nauseous. Thankfully, this mod fixes that and even lets you adjust just how much, if any, wobble you want overall.
