WB Games Montreal is a busy studio right now. We already know it’s currently working on Gotham Knights, an action RPG that puts various Batman sidekicks in the starring role. But it looks like the team has another project on its hands, one that isn’t DC-related for a change.

As reported by PCGamesN, WB Games Montreal has recently put up a job listing for a senior gameplay/animation programmer. In the job description, it’s mentioned that the position will involve being “responsible for a new IP, AAA title.”

There’s currently no available information on what this new IP could possibly be. The rest of the job listing doesn’t give anything else away, other than it’s likely to be multiplatform, as a preferred candidate has experience developing for both PlayStation and Xbox. On the company website, the career page still states that the team is “focused on developing games that expand the DC universe”, so work on this new IP is likely still in its infancy.

Working on a completely new IP would be a first for the studio, which has been around since 2010. In its 11 year history, it has exclusively worked on video game adaptions of other franchises, most notably the Batman Arkham series. The biggest title under its belt is Batman: Arkham Origins, which was met with mixed reviews, especially compared to the other titles in the series developed by Rocksteady Studios.

On top of this new IP, whatever it may be, the developer currently has its hands full with Gotham Knights. Unfortunately for fans eager for more information, the game skipped E3 this year and we haven’t had any more details since its reveal. It was actually originally intended to be a 2021 launch, but like many games developed over the pandemic, this was later pushed back to an unspecified date in 2022.

Gotham Knights is set to come to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC at some point next year.
