Of all the things Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is known for - a massive cast and a hellish setting being some of them - weapons are among the most important. If you want to excel at the hardest stages and try your hand at the highest difficulties, you'll need to know how to get your hands on some good weapons.

While the Ultimate edition of the game added ways to acquire even better weapons through the Gauntlet Mode, Big Star weapons are still viable alternatives for those who want to see a weapon grow from a weaker state to a very strong one.

What Is A Big Star Weapon

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Big Star Weapon in the Blacksmith Shop

Big Star Weapons are powerful armaments that may be equipped by multiple characters based on the type of weapon they are - they are purchased at the Blacksmith in exchange for Crystals and Gems, instead of just Gems like normal weapons are.

The thing that separates Big Star Weapons from regular weapons is that while they start with relatively low attack power, they have a tremendous capacity for Weapon Compatibility growth. After using a Big Star weapon enough, it will become incredibly strong - and some even unlock unique abilities at the highest compatibility levels.

A great way to increase the rate at which you gain Weapon Compatibility is to add multiple ranks of the Harmony skill to a weapon. Then, once you've maxed out the gauge, you can replace Harmony with a more useful, offensive skill.

Big Star Weapons come with no skills attached - it's up to you to find other weapons of the same type that have great skills and then use Weapon Fusion at the Blacksmith to create the weapon of your dreams.

How To Get Crystals

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate True Triple Attack

Big Star Weapons can be bought from the beginning of the game - as soon as you have access to the Blacksmith - but they require Crystals to purchase.

Crystals will drop from enemies when they are killed by a True Triple Attack, but this is not a certain thing. There are some factors that go into calculating whether or not a Crystal will drop from a fallen enemy:

  • Officers are more likely to drop Crystals than grunts.
  • You are more likely to get Crystals when playing on higher difficulties and on higher difficulty stages.
  • You are more likely to get Crystals when the bond between your three playable parties is higher.

You can only get Crystals on Normal, Hard, or Chaos modes. You cannot get them on Easy.

Remember, to execute a True Triple Attack, you need to press both the trigger buttons at the same time while your blue gauge on the bottom left of the screen is full. This will give you an extended period of time where enemies are frozen by your attacks and resolves with a large explosive attack.
