Call Of Duty: Warzone is a fun game without a doubt, but some players have issues with improving their KD ratio. Because of how many different seasoned players are playing the game, it can be difficult for beginners to get large amounts of kills and learn how to improve their skill from a tactical standpoint.

So here are different ways that players can best utilize all of their abilities to their advantage and easily defeat their opponents when dropping into the battle royale mode. These strategies are great for players looking to get more kills in the plunder mode or in the battle royale.

Updated April 24th, 2021 by Michael Caruso: Warzone was released a little over a year ago, and with all of the new content added over the months, you may be wondering about some interesting new methods for getting kills while playing the Call Of Duty Battle Royale. Many new features, weapons, and mechanics have been added to Warzone to improve the experience of the player base and add fresh content. Content including the train, the bunkers, the opened-up stadium, and more can now be used to fight all of the other competitors across the map. Here are some fun new strategies for getting kills that include old and new content alike.

15 Ride On The Train

The train added into Warzone has a ton of loot on it, but a lot of other players are also riding on it, as well, which allows for ample opportunities to get kills and battle other players. There are ammo crates on the train, so more can be collected for free even if you run out of ammo.

However, riding on the train is a risky strategy because other players will regularly shoot at it when they see another player riding it. This strategy should only be employed by players that are good at aiming while also moving.

14 Collect Loot & Complete Objectives On The Outskirts Of The Map

This strategy is quite different from the previous one because instead of walking into a highly-populated area, you will be collecting weapons on the outskirts of the map. The small buildings that reside near the ocean are filled will high-level loot, but nobody ever drops there since other players don't drop there.

After collecting powerful weapons, a vehicle can be used to travel to the more populated areas and fight enemies. Enemies in highly populated drop spots will have less loot to choose from, which gives teams on the outskirts a major advantage during a firefight.

13 Only Play With Teammates That Are Communicating

While playing trios and squads, occasionally, players will not have microphones or they will not attempt to communicate through messages. These types of teammates should be avoided because, without communication, it is incredibly hard to get kills or win a match.

It is easy to find other players with microphones by using Discord or Reddit. If another player doesn't communicate, then it is better to play solos instead of the team game modes when trying to improve a K/D ratio.

12 Use A Sniper In One Of The Skyscrapers

The skyscrapers and other tall structures in Warzone are the perfect places to get kills while using a sniper. It is harder for enemies to spot a sniper in a tall building because they usually aren't looking upwards.

On top of that advantage, skyscrapers also provide a perfect view of the area below them, and enemies will most likely run in the line of sight of the weapon, making for easy kills. If this strategy is used, make sure to have an escape plan in case you aren't in the circle.

11 Drop On Top Of The Stadium

Similar to skyscrapers, the top of the stadium is a great spot to look for enemies below. Players can sit ontop of the stadium and wait for the enemies below to kill each other, and then parachute down to the bottom, surprising the wounded enemies that are still alive.

Although this method can backfire, it is worthwhile to use since it is fun to ambush enemies and makes for an interesting match overall. Make sure to pick up a weapon before fighting any enemies at the bottom of the stadium; weapons are found all over the stadium and outside of it.

10 Run Enemies Over With Vehicles

This tip might be controversial because most players don't respect kills as much with vehicles as they do with weapons. However, because of how the mechanics of the vehicles work in Warzone, running other players over with cars or even helicopters is one of the easiest ways to get kills.

A lot of players stand out in the open while looting or running across the map, so driving over players is extremely easy in most situations and can sometimes even be accomplished more easily than killing the enemy with a gun. This should definitely be taken into consideration if a player is trying to get more kills. A lot of players don't know how easy getting kills in vehicles can be, so hopefully, fans of the game will now realize the vehicle's full potential.

9 Customize Loadouts Whenever New Items Are Unlocked

Every player customizes their loadout to some extent; however, a lot of players neglect it when they unlock new weapons. It's important that every time a player gets a new attachment for their favorite weapon or a new piece of equipment, they put it in their loadout so that they have the most powerful set possible.

This will help ensure that every player has the best set of weapons that they possibly can within the battle royale so that they can easily decimate their enemies during gunfights.

8 Hot Drop On Enemies

Lots of players don't hot drop on enemies as much as they should. Dropping straight near another player and then immediately attempting to kill them can catch them by surprise and score the kill for the player. It's worth noting that this should only be attempted on Solo mode because it will be unfair to the player's teammates if they die at the start of the match.

It's definitely worth keeping in mind that hot dropping can surprise other players and get the kill more easily than other methods. Hot dropping is something that every player that wants kills should be doing; however, it is also important to not land straight on an enemy that has recently picked up a gun, and beginners should also be wary of hot dropping.

7 Stay Close To Teammates When Playing Trios Or Squads

When playing Trios or Squads, players should always be staying close to teammates and not straying too far away from their team. The reason that this will help get you kills is that, if you are trying to go after an enemy and there is more than just one, you probably won't be able to take down many of them without dying.

Staying together and being grouped up is essential for getting the most kills for any player or squad, but unfortunately, many teams stray from each other and get wiped out before getting the chance to kill any enemies.

6 Utilize Grenades To Their Full Potential

Every player uses a grenade in Warzone from time to time, but most don't utilize them to their full potential. Frag grenades are powerful for getting kills, especially if you know how to time them just right and throw them in windows where enemies are in a confined space. The best way to properly use grenades is to wait until you have an enemy backed into a corner and throw a frag grenade to either blow them up or force them out into the open. Never throw grenades when in a location where they can easily be thrown back, such as an open field.

It is also worth noting that other equipment such as C4 can easily blow up vehicles in one shot, and it should always be used if there is a car coming towards you because it will score you an instant kill.

5 Avoid Lower Tier Weapons & Learn Non-Comfort Zone Guns

Weapons that are lower tier can sometimes be useful; however, a lot of players just take whichever is their favorite gun. What players should instead be doing is attempting to utilize and practice with every gun so that they can take the best piece of equipment that they can possibly find.

Too many players take their favorite gun that is of grey or green tier instead of taking a gold gun that they may not know how to use. Learning every type of gun in the game is crucial for any player that wants to have a good KD ratio.

4 Use Dark Outfits

Using dark costumes is important so that the soldier isn't seen while sniping or hiding from an enemy. It also helps with blending in, and players will be able to more easily camp and secure kills that way. It is common for players to equip the best-looking costume that they have, but in a battle royale mode, that is usually a death sentence, specifically if that costume is colorful.

Because of how many times players are trying to camp and enemies end up finding them, it's worth not using the more colorful skins within the battle royale mode. Although this game isn't as colorful as some other BR games, and a lot of the skins are darker-themed, a lot of them are also very colorful, and those should be avoided at all costs if you are trying to score wins or get kills.

3 Constantly Check The Mini-Map For Enemy Fire And Vehicles

The mini-map is important, and one thing that many players may not know about it is that if they go into their settings menu, then they can change it to square-shaped instead of circle-shaped. This will allow players to see more of the map around them. The mini-map is especially useful for vehicles that a player may not be able to hear around them.

This is also a tip worth noting because a lot of players don't check the mini-map as much as they should, and therefore don't see enemies that may be shooting nearby them. Utilizing the mini-map will help you get a lot more kills and help sneak up on unsuspecting enemies.

2 Peek Through Doors Instead Of Opening Them

There are too many players in Warzone that run straight through doors, attracting enemies to the loud sound that it causes. They then lose the kill that they were sneaking around to get because the enemy now knows that they are there. This can be completely avoided by instead aiming a weapon and peeking through the door, which allows for the door to open slowly instead of quickly.

You should also utilize this tip if you believe that nobody is around because it's good to get into the headspace of peeking in doors instead of opening them. This will eliminate most of the sound that comes from opening doors.

1 Play Aggressively But Also Camp When The Situation Calls For It

This is the most important tip to learn for any new Warzone player. Playing aggressively is a good idea; however, a lot of players try to push enemy teams in the wrong situations. Sometimes it's better to camp and wait for enemies to come to you.

This tip is especially true in Solo mode because some players need to know that it's not always worth running into multiple enemies at once and potentially getting caught in the crossfire. Different situations call for different playstyles, and learning to not constantly play aggressively or always hide is important for getting kills and eventually winning the match.
