If you've ever played Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs series and thought it would make for a great manga, then I have some good news for you. A new manga series based on the action-adventure game is set to debut later this week. The series will offer a brand-new story set within the tech-savvy world of the game. The book will be available, in its original Japanese, on April 12.This new manga Watch Dogs series is being written by Shirato Seiichi who previously worked on the Princess Principal anime series. Art for the book is being handled by Kamo Syuhei who was also responsible for the art in the Gangsta: Cursed series. From this Tuesday the book will be available in its original Japanese through Shinchosha’s web magazine site Kurage Bunch.Related: You Can't Fix Open World Games By Taking Away The Map MarkersManga news source, Manga Mogura RE, helped break the news for the upcoming book, aptly titled Watch Dogs Tokyo. They also shared a bit of what readers can expect from the plot of the series, tweeting that “it will be about a special new infrastructure system from a company called Bloom Japan used by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to change people’s lives. However, this new system does in fact also harbor a great darkness.”

Placing the manga within Tokyo is an interesting choice considering that it's a location not explored within the games. The first entry in the series journeyed through a futuristic Chicago while the preceding two entries explored San Francisco and London. That means that this manga will likely tell an entirely new story for the Watch Dogs universe, giving readers new characters and lore to dive into. This could open up the world of Watch Dogs to fans and allow a ton of new stories to be told in all forms of media.

The latest entry in the video game series, Watch Dogs: Legion, recently received its final update. Ubisoft announced that it would be ending support for the title, stating that they are proud of what people have created within Legion and look forward to what the future holds for Dedsec. Unfortunately, this recent entry into the series did not perform as well as Ubisoft could have hoped for. With average reviews and a ton of criticism for its lack of character development, the game didn’t quite live up to the hype for some fans. Still, this upcoming manga series is sure to get Watch Dogs fans excited to dive into a new story set within the technologically advanced world.
