Ubisoft unleashed a barrage of Watch Dogs news during its Ubisoft Forward event, but nothing was as unexpected as this – Stormzy, the popular British rapper, is coming to Watch Dogs Legion.

The latest trailer showed a CGI Stormzy singing his hit song, Rainfall, across a post-Brexit London. The music video for Rainfall will be coming out later this year, and it is built completely on the Watch Dogs Legion engine. Clint Hocking, Creative Director, said that the team is "thrilled for Stormzy to be a part of Watch Dogs Legion. His music and what he speaks to as an artist is extremely relevant for our London setting, and for the larger themes of our game." Hocking goes on to comment that it's been "a career highlight" to work on a collaboration with the popular artist.

On another note, Stormzy will also be getting his own in-game mission. It sounds crazy, but it actually makes a bit of sense. You'll be tasked with enlisting the help of other DeadSec operatives to protect the broadcast of Stormzy's latest single, one that's likely to be critical of the antagonistic organization, Albion.  We don't know much else about the one-off mission – except it's called Fall On My Enemies – but it sounds like an interesting collaboration that is bound to bring more attention to the popular title.

You can check out the trailer below:

Stormzy first found success with his Wicked Skengman freestyle series, in which he rapped over popular grime beats. Since then, he's gone on to win Best Grime Act at the MOBO Awards in 2014 and 2015 while continuing to release hit albums on a regular basis. He's also politically active, and his hope to give power back to the people makes him a great fit for the Watch Dogs universe and - more specifically - DeadSec.

Watch Dogs Legion is set for a current-gen release on October 29. Xbox Series X/S players will see it as a launch title on November 10, and the same will be true for the PlayStation 5 – whenever Sony decides to give us a release date.

Here is Ubisoft’s response to the recent allegations of misconduct within the company.
