Title Update 3.0 is now available for Watch Dogs: Legion on PC. Although Ubisoft didn't mention a release date for the patch on consoles, it did reveal that Title Update 3.0 includes files that will be used for an upcoming technical test of the Watch Dogs: Legion Online Mode.
Originally slated to launch before the end of 2020, the game's Online Mode was pushed back to a 2021 release so the team could focus on squashing bugs in Legion's single-player campaign. Title Update 3.0 brings the long-awaited multiplayer mode one step closer to reality, as Ubisoft has confirmed assets for a closed multiplayer technical test are included in the latest TU.
"The patch will be between 10-15 GB and includes various fixes and improvements detailed below, along with files that will be used for a closed technical test for the Watch Dogs: Legion Online Mode," reads the patch notes. " The focus of the tech test is on service stability and ensuring a smooth Online Mode launch as our dev team gathers data from a larger sample size of players."
While it's great to see Ubisoft chugging along with multiplayer behind the scenes, we still don't have a firm release date, as the patch notes also said, "We know you are very keen on learning about the exact launch date for the Online Mode of Watch Dogs: Legion and we will have more information coming to you soon."
Meanwhile, you can enjoy the rest of Title Update 3.0, which includes a laundry list of fixes. Here are a few of the highlights:
- Implemented various quality of life improvements for the User Interface on PC, including several fixes to unclickable option buttons.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when deleting a save file.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when the game was booted in DirectX 12 mode.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when changing any option in the gameplay tab from the main menu.
