Capcom is giving us a closer look at Resident Evil Village with a livestream airing today at 5pm ET. The showcase is confirmed to reveal plenty of new info about the upcoming game, with an extended gameplay trailer and a possible release date announcement. Watching the Resident Evil Village Showcase is easy – just follow this link or watch the embed livestream below.

Resident Evil Village remains a mystery more than six months after its initial reveal. Capcom mentioned it's slated for a 2021 release – and let slip a few details about its narrative – but the eighth major installment in the franchise remains an enigma.

Thankfully, today's livestream is hoping to clear things up. Hosted by Brittney Brombacher of What's Good Games, Capcom will be giving us a deeper look at the nightmare-inducing title. Producer Peter Fabiano will make an appearance, too, guiding you "through the world of Resident Evil Village and the horrors that await you."

The Resident Evil Village Showcase livestream will air on Thursday, January 21 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT. You can catch the showcase live right here, or you can head over to Resident Evil's official YouTube channel.

Resident Evil Village takes place after the events of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. It follows the story of Ethan Winters, who has moved away from the horrors of his past to a peaceful new locale. Things don't stay quiet for long, however, as Chris Redfield tracks him down and pulls him back into the fray.

Unfortunately, that's about the extent of what Capcom has shown off so far. Fans are hoping this upcoming showcase will provide a much closer look at the gameplay and storyline of Village – along with a release date. Capcom is hyping up the event over on Twitter, so there's a good chance most of our burning questions will finally get answered.

At any rate, fans of the series will want to tune in later tonight at 5pm ET to learn more about the upcoming title. Check back after the event for a full recap of every announcement, reveal, and our opinions on the showcase.
