Death Stranding is the first game from Kojima after his split from Konami back in 2015. It’s already garnered as much hype as it has criticism. However, the overall consensus seems to be that the game is definitely worth a shot. Players have praised everything from the exploration, the aesthetics, to the storyline. The game is an experience that requires players to put together the information presented to them like a puzzle to get the full story.

Even before the game was released, some fans showed their creative streak by creating incredible cosplays based on various trailers and promo images. On the same day the game was available, cosplayer and propmaker from Russia, Dmitriy Koshelev, posted a shot of their Sam cosplay. The look was well-received on both Instagram and Reddit. He got everything right down to the game prompts. He also posted a cosplay vs character comparison where he emulated one scene from the game. Koshelev has worked on costumes from other series as well. He sells props from Star Wars, Thor and even incredibly well made Daft Punk Helmets on his Etsy.
As more people play the game we can definitely expect to see more amazing content from fans. There are already sites with the cosplay costumes ready to purchase and various YouTube tutorials teaching viewers how to do makeup looks. It’s only a matter of time before we see more Sams and maybe even a Cliff (Mads Mikkelsen).
Death Stranding is currently available on the PlayStation 4 and will come to PC in the summer of 2020.
