Disney has become such a household name over the years that we've come to expect a certain amount of quality from them. Their movies are always fantastic (whether animated or live-action) and it's hard to dislike any of the iconic characters that they create.

That said, there are some parts of Disney that are definitely a bit less quality-controlled than others. The main offender is the Disney Channel, which started out by showcasing an impressive lineup of animated and live action shows but has since devolved into an array of tween-focused filler.

This isn't to say that every show on Disney Channel is bad, after all, the network brought us gems like Kim Possible, Gravity Falls, That's So Raven, Even Stevens, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, just to name a few. Unfortunately, there's no denying that Disney Channel has seen a massive drop in imaginative and well-made television series.

With all of the mistakes that Disney Channel has made over the years, there are many shows that fans wish never made it to air. These terrible shows are filling space and taking timeslots from shows that viewers actually want to watch, or worse, proposed original programming that is likely much better.

We scoured the web and took a look at what the fans were saying, as well as the rating that certain Disney Channel shows received. This list is dedicated to the 25 worst television-based mistakes that the iconic studio has ever made.

25 Dog With A Blog

Via: Dog With a Blog Wiki

Many Disney Channel fanatics knew this series would show up somewhere on our list, based solely on its premise. Dog With a Blog is exactly what it sounds like, a show featuring a canine character with his own online blog. It's not animated, which makes it a little unsettling at times since it's a "real" talking dog that ends up tapping its paws on the home computer.

Premise aside, the real issues with this show lie in uninspired acting, terrible re-used jokes (from other Disney shows) and a cast of characters that many find annoying.

24 A.N.T. Farm

Via: Hollywood Reporter

A.N.T. Farm follows Chyna Parks, a musical prodigy that gains entry into the “Advanced Natural Talents” program of her local high school. Based on that synopsis, you would expect a show filled to the brim with amazing musical moments and a main character that solves her problems using her immense talents.

Unfortunately, A.N.T. Farm decides to go the opposite direction, featuring a cast of characters that are unfunny, uninspired, and a bit creepy at times. This show feels like a Hannah Montana rip-off in the worst way.

23 Cory In The House

Via: Disney Channel

Disney Channel has seen its fair share of successful shows and crowd-pleasing series. When That's So Raven hit the airways, people were immediately enamored with the characters and storylines. It quickly became a Disney Channel classic. It's spin-off, Cory in the House, didn't receive nearly as much praise.

Many fans enjoyed Kyle Massey's performance as a supporting character in That's So Raven but seemed to dislike him as a main character.

Constant attempts to recapture the "glory of That's So Raven" was cause for bad writing and forced jokes. That said, the show did spawn some pretty amazing memes.

22 Totally In Tune

VIa: Youtube (Pei Pei Music)

This one is a bit strange because the premise of the show was actually quite interesting and unique. In fact, the show itself was decent, although there are some out there that found some of the characters annoying. Totally in Tune was a "reality show" that followed eight students as they attended Hamilton High School, an arts-based institution.

Of all the shows on this list, Totally in Tune is perhaps the most forgivable but there is no denying that it fell flat with fans, as evident by its 10 episode run before it faded into obscurity.

21 In A Heartbeat

Via: Bustle

Many fans out there are going to completely disagree with In a Heartbeat being on this list. It's somewhat of a cult classic among select fans but in terms of business and viewership, it was a critical failure. The series followed a young group of high school kids that were also part-time EMTs.

It was a smart premise and a fairly good show (in comparison to the rest of the stuff on this list) but, unfortunately, that didn't translate from a business standpoint. In a Heartbeat saw only one season before it was pulled from the air.

20 Bizaardvark

Via: Disney Video

Cartoon Network spends most of its funding on acquiring animated shows. Nickelodeon and Disney Channel are known to shy away from cartoons sometimes in favor of live-action shows.

Because of this, Disney and Nickelodeon are constantly "borrowing" ideas from one another.

When Disney saw the success of iCarly, they tried to make their own "wacky web show" with Bizaardvark. The finished product is an insanely annoying series that's often regarded as one of the worst shows that Disney ever produced. It takes more than a "good premise" to make a show successful. We have no idea how this series is still running.

19 Pickle And Peanut

Via: Disney LOL

Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network are known for their supremely strange shows (although Nick has seen a drop in quality in recent years). Viewers don't normally associate Disney with insane animations, thanks to their family-friendly and conservative values. Perhaps this is why it's so shocking to see Disney Channel plugging Pickle and Peanut.

This series is filled to the brim with gross-out humor and disgusting storylines. Many find the characters to be annoying and the mixture of live-action and animation can be downright unsettling at times.

18 Sonny With A Chance

Via: Just Watch

There are many fans out there that believe that Demi Lovato can do no wrong. Because of this, there are many that will downright defend Sonny with a Chance, no matter how sub-par the show may actually be. Those that can see past Lovato's star-power were rather unimpressed with the lackluster Disney Channel series.

The premise of the show is rather smart, with Sonny making her way to the big city in order to star on one of her favorite sketch-comedy series. Personally, we like Sonny with a Chance for the most part, but according to lukewarm reviews, it's a middle-of-the-pack Disney Channel show.

17 So Random!

Via: Mania Magazine

While we’re on the subject of Sonny with a Chance, let’s talk about the spin-off, So Random!. It’s no shock that many fans watched Sonny with a Chance thanks to the popularity of Demi Lovato. Which begs the question, why would Disney create a spin-off show that’s missing the iconic star?

At its core, So Random! is nothing more than a rip-off of Nickelodeon's successful sketch-comedy show, All That. Unfortunately, without Lovato, So Random! is just a group of uninspired actors that find themselves trudging through horribly written sketches with annoying guest star appearances.

16 Future-Worm!

Via: Oh My Disney

Disney Channel has shied away from animated shows as of late, which is unfortunate since they've played host to a variety of amazing animated series (Kim Possible, American Dragon Jake Long, Gravity Falls). They tried in 2015 with Future-Worm!, a wildly imaginative series that follows the adventures of a time-traveling worm and a young boy.

Sadly, the show failed to impress many (an unfortunate truth for many Disney Channel animated shows lately).

It only received one season (21 episodes). If anything, Future-Worm is one of the most creative shows on this list.

15 Prank Stars

Via: Youtube (ClevverTv)

Back in 2003, Ashton Kutcher had a rather successful show called Punk’d. It followed the film and television star as he crafted elaborate pranks and goofs against other celebrities. The pranks were well thought out and wonderfully executed (most of the time).

In 2011, Disney tried to emulate the show’s success, creating a series called Prank Stars, which had lucky viewers meeting up with Disney Channel celebs, only to be pranked. Sadly, none of the pranks were that funny and the episodes felt more like a celeb meet and greet than a prank show.

14 Best Friends Whenever

Via: M Magazine

A lot of television networks struggle to consistently create new and innovative projects. That’s why you’ll see a lot of reboots and “stolen ideas” in the modern age. Unfortunately for Disney, even their “unique” ideas are less-than-stellar.

Best Friends Whenever is a time-traveling buddy series, in the same vein (sort of) as Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. The concept is interesting but Disney Channel managed to absolutely ruin the delivery. It's hard to like the characters, the plot seems all over the place at times, and the special effects and time travel gimmicks are a bit cringey, to be honest.

13 Take Two With Phineas And Ferb

Via: Youtube (Disney Channel Australia & New Zealand)

Talk shows have always been seen as a "grown-up" thing. We can remember sneaking out past bedtime to see our parents watching David Letterman or Jay Leno. Cartoon Network gave the younger crowd a "better version" of talk shows with their real-life and animation hybrid, Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

Disney tried to bring this concept to the younger crowd, employing their popular characters, Phineas and Ferb, to act as hosts. Although these "episodes" are only two minutes long, the animation is a bit off-putting and some of the celebrity guests can be a bit boring (or annoying) at times.

12 Fish Hooks

Via: Fish Hooks Wiki

Before there was Pickle and Peanut, there was Fish Hooks. Granted, the show wasn't nearly as "off the rails" as Pickle and Peanut, it could still be insanely weird and pretty unsettling at times.

The blend of live-action, 3D animation, and 2D animation was creepy at times and there was an abundance of gross-out humor.

All in all, Fish Hooks seemed like a lazy, tossed-together Spongebob clone with the added "tween hook" that the fish were attending an underwater high school.

11 Jessie

Via: Sweety High

Jessie suffers from the same unwarranted love and respect that plagues Sonny With a Chance. It’s not the best show but there are many out there that defend it simply for the fact that it stars Debby Ryan.

Without the tint of rose-colored glasses, Jessie shows its true colors. It's a sitcom that has no business airing on Disney Channel thanks to its terrible life lessons and an annoyingly posh cast of characters. Disney has always been a company interested in showing children that their dreams can come true through hard work and perseverance. Jessie proves that sometimes things are simply handed to you, no matter what you've done.

10 Crash And Bernstein

Via: Youtube (DisneyXDUK)

Muppet-like characters can be downright hilarious when used correctly. Just look at Jim Henson's The Muppets or the widely successful "grown-up" musical, Avenue Q. There was even a show on Nickelodeon called My Cousin Skeeter, which featured a puppet character and did rather well.

Crash and Bernstein was Disney's attempt at cracking the Muppet code. Much like My Cousin Skeeter, it featured a wise-cracking puppet and a young boy who had "real life adventures" each day. Sadly, the show crashed and burned (pun intended). It's not that funny, can be downright annoying, and the theme song is just cringey.

9 I Didn’t Do It

Via: I Didn't Do It Wiki

When we hear the word "Disney," we usually imagine wholesome shows and films filled with family values and enjoyable entertainment for all ages. Disney has grown its brand over the years but still manages to maintain its family-first image, impressing parents with its value-based shows and kids entertainment.

That's why I Didn't Do It seems so completely out of place. The entire premise of the show follows a group of teens that are constantly getting away with all sorts of things. These aren't the lessons that Disney usually teaches impressionable kids.

8 Code: 9

Via: Youtube (DisneyChannelUK)

Prank Stars absolutely bombed but Disney was adamant that the prank show formula would work. They simply needed to tweak it, turn it into something that was more realistic and less celebrity-heavy. Thus, Code: 9 was born.

This time, Disney worked with kids and families to play elaborate pranks on their family members and friends.

Once again, Disney had a solid concept and absolutely fumbled the execution. Many fans hated the pranks seen on Code: 9, with a majority of them uninspired and just not funny.

7 Austin & Ally

Via: Laura Marano Wiki

The one thing that plagues Disney Channel more than anything else is the fact that many of its shows feature immense overacting from cast members. There is nothing more cringe-inducing then seeing someone take a teen character and crank up the dial to eleven.

Austin & Ally has some of the worst offenders when it comes to this. The entire cast feels as if they're trying ridiculously hard to be funny and relatable, which is downright difficult thanks to the show's subpar writing and awful jokes.

6 Two More Eggs

Via: IMDb

During the late 90s and early 2000s, The Brothers Chaps introduced the internet to Homestar Runner, a flash animation series that developed a cult following. The series was well-animated and featured some stellar voice-acting from the duo.

In 2015, they were approached by Disney to create a series of cartoon shorts. Two More Eggs would prove to be a less-than-stellar stain on The Brothers Chaps resumes. Not only were most of the shorts poorly animated, they were wildly unfunny and downright annoying, two things that the Homestar Runner series never was.
