Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched over a year ago, but Nintendo is still busy with free updates to the island life sim. Next week on Friday, October 15, Nintendo will host a 20-minute special Animal Crossing focused Direct at 7am PT, and you may recognize one of the stars from the show.
During last month's Direct, Nintendo offered a little sneak peek at what it would bring to your island with its next series of updates. Brewster, the adorable pigeon barista, and his coffee shop aptly named The Roost will return after confirmation in the most recent showcase. You weren't really offered much of a preview of Brewster's new digs, but Nintendo teased the little bird host who's been a staple since Wild World with a sign in the museum.
Your Villager may not have to wait long, either. Nintendo said its next batch of free content will arrive in November, so you may be kicking back espressos with Brewster just in time for the holidays. Since the Animal Crossing-themed showcase is running a little long at 20 minutes, that hopefully means you'll get a few other goodies to accompany The Roost too. You may have joined in on a few events already this year, but they've mostly been limited to repeats of festivities from 2020.
Those of us still helplessly dedicated to our islands have been holding out for the cafe for months after a previous datamine referenced additions to the museum. In the past, Brewster's hangout has served as more than just a place to pick up a latte. Villagers could attend concerts hosted by K.K. Slider, meet up with special characters, or even work as a barista—especially good for those of you who still owe Tom Nook a fortune.
Animal Crossing's amiibo collection will also expand as Nintendo just revealed its series 5 cards are coming soon. They're likely to see their official launch date revealed in the Nintendo Direct, but you'll need to move fast if you want to guarantee a few packs of your own—Animal Crossing's amiibo cards are notoriously hard to come by.
