We can all gather 'round with a flagon of Cintrian Faro, maybe even in a wooden tub full of soapy hot water, and watch The Witcher Season 2 in only a week - all eight episodes land on Netflix on December 17.
The upcoming season is based on Andrzej Sapkowski's novel Blood of Elves and will have a more linear narrative than before, which was out of chronology, jumping between the past, present, and future. It confused viewers. With every upcoming episode clocking in at about 50-60 minutes, you can binge-watch the new series at once in under eight hours on the same day. Or just save some for the weekend — in case you're not afraid of the spoilers on the web.
Season 2 picks up right where we left our heroes: Geralt (Henry Cavill) has finally reunited with Ciri (Freya Allan). The two travel to Kaer Morhen to meet the witchers where Ciri is trained. Fans expected a large part of the season to take place at the mountain fortress, where we meet new acolytes of the School of the Wolf including fan-favourite Vesemir (Kim Bodnia). He even has his own solo film now which details his youth - it's called Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated movie also available on Netflix.
While Geralt and Ciri will strengthen their bond in Season 2, Yennefer had been captured by Nilfgaard after the Battle of Sodden Hill. According to the trailers, we'll later see her falling into the hands of the Scoia'tael (Squirrels) — a guerrilla faction fighting for non-humans. It is unknown how her and Geralt's paths will cross in the new episodes, but showrunner Lauren Hissrich hinted she wanted to bring main characters together more often than before.
Henry Cavill, who portrays the White Wolf himself, earlier confirmed he always "feels true to Geralt's core," preferring Yennefer over Triss in The Witcher 3 every time he plays the game. Fans can expect the evolution of their complicated relationship over the course of the series.
