Yes, it's hard to believe, but World of Warcraft is all grown up. Soon, it'll be able to apply for a provisional driver's license, and in a few years, it'll even be able to vote.

As is tradition, World of Warcraft is celebrating its birthday in the best way possible: giving away free loot.

From now until November 23rd, players can login to take part in the 16th Anniversary festivities. They start with players receiving the 16th Anniversary Achievement and also the special Anniversary Gift Package just for logging in. The gift package contains 200 Timewarped Badges, the traditional currency for the special anniversary vendors, as well as special Anniversary item that increases XP and reputation gains by 16%.

There's also a "Letter from the Timewalkers" that sets players on a new quest to either Orgrimmar or Stormwind, depending on their faction. Questgivers Historian Llore and Historian Ju’pa will have two daily quests that will help players earn even more Timewarped badges, either by answering some WoW trivia questions or by heading out to kill an old boss.

Those bosses include Lord Kazzak, Azuregos, and one of the four Dragons of Nightmare, who now all feature "slightly updated abilities." Defeat them to get 30 more Timewarped Badges per kill, but you must be at least level 30 or above to take part.

Korrak's Revenge returns as one as a tweaked version of the original Alterac Valley Battleground and will net you XP as well as two new mounts: the Alliances Stormpike Battle Ram or the Horde's Frostwolf Snarler.

And finally, the Caverns of Time Party returns once more along with its bizarre version of Khadgar-ball Soccer. The anniversary vendor also returns to let you trade in badges for cosmetics.

Normally, World of Warcraft would celebrate their anniversary on November 23, but this year they're going to celebrate the special day with a brand new expansion. People are very interested in Shadowlands, if pre-orders are any indication, so it seems like a fine way to ring in the game’s sweet 16.
