Since its release, popular Twitch star Asmongold has become popular for streaming World of Warcraft: Classic. Roughly 100,000 viewers were on his channel when he finally reached level 60, which was followed by a massive celebration across the server.

After grinding dungeons for experience, his avatar, a Human Warrior named Asmon, was only a few kills away from hitting the level cap. Asmongold began to hype up his viewers, stating: “Alright, this could be it right here, this could be it. After two weeks, every day playing over 12 hours a day, always being streamed online, this right here, this is it.” A moment later, he reached his goal, and the chat erupted with celebratory messages.

Asmon and his party then went to Stormwind, where there appeared to be hundreds of players lined up to celebrate with them. Asmongold, meanwhile, streamed Queen's “We Are The Champions” and smiled like a giddy child throughout.

Together, the group marched all the way through the city and to the Cathedral, where players set up fireworks and Area of Effect spells for the occasion. “Gentlemen, today the game begins. I focused on leveling a lot, but now that’s over, and now we get to play the game, the way that I want to play the game. Not just to focus on leveling, but to do what we want to do. Gentlemen, this has been one of the greatest events that I’ve ever done,” Asmongold said to the group.

With his statement, Asmongold is probably referring to end game raid content, which is limited to Phase One of Blizzard’s profession for WoW: Classic. This includes Onyxia’s Lair, which is located in Dustwallow March in Kalimdor. Interestingly, although Asmongold has finished leveling, his process will be largely the same.

For now, we will have to keep an eye on Asmongold’s channel, as it will be curious to see if he can maintain the same number of viewers after reaching level 60. This might be a challenge since raid content requires focus and communication with a raid party, which might make his streams less interactive. Then again, he has so much experience raiding in the game that it may require little communication on his part.
