One of the longest-running MMOs, World of Warcraft, is getting a new expansion this summer.

Details concerning a brand new WoW expansion were posted on the game’s website yesterday, outlining the seventh major expansion to hit the world’s largest MMORPG. And it seems like the game is returning to its routes.

Titled Battle for Azeroth, the two core factions of WoW, The Alliance and The Horde, once again come to blows after allying to defeat the demonic Burning Legion in the previous expansion, Legion. “The shattered trust between the Alliance and the Horde has brought tensions to the brink of war,” reads the preview page, “and no one knows what the future holds for Azeroth.”

Battle for Azeroth is set to release “this summer”, which means it could technically come as far away as September, but here’s hoping that Blizzard keeps to the spirit of the word “summer” rather than the technical definition.

But you’re not here for the commentary, so let’s get to the good stuff. First up, four new races including the Highmountain Tauren, Lightforged Draenei, Void Elves, and Nightborne, a previously enslaved race of elves that have thrown in the with the Horde so both sides can have an elvish race to choose from.

You’ll also get a level 110 character boost allowing you to get to the good stuff which whatever character you like best. However, if you decide to grind from 20 to 110 you’ll get a brand new set of armor called the Heritage Armor Set. And you do have to grind it out the hard way - no faction switching, race changing, or free levels via the Recruit A Friend program allowed.

That all comes standard with the regular $50 edition, but if you shell out for the $70 Digital Deluxe Edition you get a bunch of other stuff including:

Zandalar Gilded Ravasaur (Horde) and Kul Tiras Seabraid Stallion (Alliance) mounts

Tottle, the baby Tortollan pet

Hearthstone card back

StarCraft II sprays

Heroes of the Storm Primal Flamesaber mounts

Overwatch voice lines, emotes, sprays, and icons

And of course, the expansion will come with all new quests, game modes, and lots of interesting stuff to do (although a lot of it seems pirate related, so hope you’re a fan water).
