World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has given its outdated profession system a much-needed overhaul. The biggest change is the multiple specialization trees under each profession. These professions even have branching choices that you can invest in with precious knowledge points, setting yourself apart from other players with the same job.

Navigating these diverse specializations is crucial to World of Warcraft's end game, as it provides numerous ways to buff up your character. From crafting life-saving consumables to squeezing more stats into your gear, you'll need every help you can get when facing the Dragonflight's hardest content.

8 Textiles - Tailoring

Tailors are masters of manipulating cloth to create cloth garments and spellthreads. They are also responsible for crafting bags to expand the number of items you can carry. For convenience's sake, it's great to have extra space for the increasing number of items to bring, especially food and consumables.

Additionally, Tailors specializing in Textiles can create a new reagent bag that holds ingredients for professions. For many players, the endgame means amassing as much gold as possible, and a dedicated bag is indispensable when you're hoarding items for the auction house.

7 Archiving - Inscription

Globally, Inscription has the least number of players working in the profession. Scribes usually craft items that supplement other professions, like Glyphs for customizing your Drake or Draconic Treatises which grants a knowledge point. Scribes who are experts in Archiving can make Missives, a valuable item that dictates the stats of crafted gear.

Missives might as well be a mandatory component when crafting gear. A Missive's stats come in pairs instead of the previous iteration from World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, offering more customization.

6 Faceting - Jewelcrafting

Placing the appropriate gem on your gear's sockets is one of the first steps to enhancing your character in the endgame. Jewelcrafters crush and prospect ore for raw materials, letting you cut and shape complex stat-boosting gems, intricate rings, necklaces, and statues. You can craft gems yourself or purchase them from the auction house.

Fully investing knowledge points into a tree in Faceting allows you to craft a Primalist Gem, boosting your primary and secondary stat. It's a highly sought-after item, and you can make decent gold accepting crafting orders for other players.

5 Cooking

Cooking is a secondary profession you can learn along with your two primary choices. As a chef, you can cook food that provides useful stat bonuses to yourself or a feast that the whole party can enjoy. Chefs will use ingredients gathered from wildlife, fish, along with various herbs and spices.

The best part is that leveling Cooking doesn't require a massive investment of gold and time because of the lack of knowledge points. Additionally, you don't have to worry about inspiration procs and quality, ensuring you'll get the same bonuses for each craft.

4 Enchantment - Enchanting

Enchanters break down spare gear into magical components, transforming those reagents into enchantments for your weapons and armor. Aside from the regular stat bonuses, enchantments can also give you the three tertiary stats: Avoidance, Leech, and Speed. You'll always need enchantments as you regularly replace your gear.

The Enchantment specialization requires a hefty investment into one branch to craft a high-quality weapon upgrade. It is a costly endeavor, and expect to pay bags of gold for rank three weapon enchantments.

3 Consumables - Leatherworking

World Of Warcraft Demon Hunters Ready for Battle

Commonly paired with Skinning, Leatherworking processes leather, hides, and scales into armor, weapons, and consumables. Leatherworkers are always busy since the popular classes (including the new Evoker) use leather and mail gear. They can also create armor kits for classes with strength and agility as their primary stat.

Leatherworkers with the Consumables specialization can create Feral Hide Drums, an item that increases the party's haste for forty seconds. It isn't as strong as the classic Heroism/Bloodlust, but having drums in your party frees you from the limitation of searching for a class with one when forming a group.

2 Mechanical Mind - Engineering

Engineering has always been one of the most complex professions, crafting gadgets and tools with niche uses. Although their iteration is filled with little rewards for too much invention, you can take the profession if you want to cover your weaknesses with gadgets and accessories.

An Engineer can put points into the Inventions sub-specialization from Mechanical Mind to Arclight Vital Correctors, Dragonflight's battle rez. Using the item without specialization is risky as you run the embarrassing risk of the jumper cables backfiring, killing you in the process.

1 Potion Or Phial Mastery - Alchemy

An alchemy shop filled with potions and elixirs

As long as World of Warcraft has difficult end-game content, Alchemists will continue to mix and bottle herbs for players. While you easily purchase powerful concoctions from the auction house, learning the Potion Mastery and Phial Mastery specializations grants you additional bonuses to the individual items.

Alchemists with Potion Mastery enjoy stronger effects on their brews, and Phial Mastery can hold a flask's buff for much longer. Alchemy is the perfect profession if you're more interested in pushing challenging content instead of making gold.
