Quick Links
The Warrior is one of the oldest RPG classes. When the first tabletop games were released, the Warrior was there, and the class continues to hold a loyal following and stays fresh enough to recruit new gamers. Modern MMORPGs like World of Warcraft also have a Warrior class, and it's one of the most versatile, interesting, and overall fun classes to play.
The class has gone through some changes since Dragonflight was released, and this most recent expansion saw a completely new Talent Tree system, among many other adjustments. With all of the choices given to Warriors, it helps to have a guide to follow.
Why Fury Warrior?
- The Barbarian is a fun, interesting class that's popular in other RPGs but isn't available in World of Warcraft. Luckily, the Fury Warrior fills that role.
- The Protection Warrior is the tank that everyone wants as a best friend when it's time to visit a dungeon. Skill is for the Arms Warrior, who studies their weapons and wields them like an artist. The Fury Warrior only wants to crush their enemies with the closest large object.
- You are the Fury Warrior, and your signature abilities are Bloodthirst and Recklessness. Your battle cries drive your enemies away in terror, you generate Rage to power your abilities, and when it comes to melee DPS, few can match your terrible prowess.
Best Races
There are 14 races to choose from during the character creation process in WoW, and almost every race has access to the Warrior class. These are suggestions based on inherent racial traits.

The Talent Trees
Players that are just starting out with their Warriors have some core abilities that they all share in their Main Talent Tree. The Fury Warrior Tree on the right provides you with the skills and talents unique to the specification. Both talent tress are detailed below.
You used to have to visit a trainer and pay gold to reset talent points, but today there are a variety of different builds that you can play with in the game free of charge.
If you're new to the game, use the Starter Build option, and the game will guide you through a basic, no-frills leveling build.
Main Talent Tree Build
- Import String: BgEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAAIJoEARIhIkENChIQIhEQkkESyBSkkEplSSCQSAAAAB
Each Warrior Talent Tree shares some of the same traits. These examples maximize the effectiveness of your regular Warrior and Fury Talents for endgame activities, which include raids, dungeons, and battlegrounds.
Fury Tree - Raid Annihilator Build
- Import String: BgEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAAIJoEARIhIkENChIQIhEQkkESyBSkkEplSSCQSAAAAB
Just like the name says, this Fury Tree build makes you into a savage killer in max-level dungeons. It uses the same Main Warrior Build as the one above.
Fury Tree - Bloodbath Mythic+ Build
- Import String: BgEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAEAAAAAAAAAAIAJokQQEEiARjIhIQkESkmEJRikIRSEplWAikEAAAQA
This build is just as savage as the Annihilator, so it's an easy learning curve for those already using the raid build. The Bloodbath build is designed for use in Mythic+ dungeons.
It also uses the same Main Warrior Tree but with three changes.
- On Row 4, choose Fresh Meat instead of Improved Bloodthirst.
- On Row 9, choose Spear of Bastion instead of Thunderous Roar.
- On Row 10, choose Elysian Might instead of Thunderous Words.
Even if your character is not yet maxed level, you can still import strings from builds that are intended for endgame players. You can also use the Import option to try unique builds made up by friends or your raid leader and change them at any time using the "Reset All Talents" option.
Rotation
- You should use some abilities, like Execute and Raging Blow, whenever they proc for the instant cast, regardless of where you are in the rotation. Fury Warriors have Sudden Death, so you don't have to wait until the enemy is at less than 20 percent health to use this.
- Battle Shout is the attack buff the Warrior gives to their raid and party companions
- Use Heroic Throw to pull ranged targets. Use your in-combat healing abilities Bloodthirst and Enraged Regeneration, any time you need them.
- Spell Reflection and Pummel interrupt spellcasting, another ability you can use whenever the need arises, but keep in mind it has a 25-second cooldown.

Macros
The most effective macros for Warriors will always be something that combines abilities to make them faster and more efficient. Here are a few examples you can cut and paste directly into your macros window.
A simple one starts with the ability Recklessness.
Cast Recklessness, and combine it with any racial abilities and trinkets to get the maximum effect in one turn.
#showtooltip Recklessness
/use Recklessness
/use Blood Fury
/use Berserking
/use Ancestral Call
Here's a handy one that combines two signature abilities, Charge and Victory Rush, into a single keybind. It automatically activates Victory Rush when in melee range and Charge when out.
#showtooltip
/cast Charge
/cast Victory Rush
Gems, Enchants, And Consumables
- Fractured Neltharite improves Mastery, and you should have as many of them socketed as possible. Anything that improves Mastery or Critical Strike are also good choices.
- Enchant Weapon - Sophic Devotion causes your weapon to randomly harness Order, which improves your primary stat for 15 minutes. This is usually Strength, but Mastery and Critical Strike are alternatives.
- Phial of Elemental Chaos is one of the best options available, charging you with the power of the elements for 60 seconds. An elemental boon is randomly chosen each time.
Stat Priority
Strength is always the Warrior's primary stat regardless of spec. For those planning on visiting the Mythic+ dungeons, Critical Strike and Mastery can and often do switch places.
- Strength. Provides attack power and increases any ability that does damage. It's a common stat on plate armor.
- Haste. Increased movement speed overall, including the time between auto-attacks, gives you a faster rotation.
- Mastery. This boosts your damage while Enrage is active, making it more important for the Fury Warrior.
- Critical Strike. Deals double damage, but doesn't generate Rage and is more important for an Arms Warrior.
- Versatility. Increases damage done and reduces damage taken.
Best Fury Warrior Gear
The following list is the best a Warrior can have, but it's more of a guideline than a rule. As you level, anything that improves your Strength is a good choice. Swap between Mastery and Critical Strike for the next best choices.
