player has been leveling their World of Warcraft: Classic Priest entirely through their phone and, believe it or not, the same could be done with the Nintendo Switch. Though, it would take some work to accomplish.

The individual using their phone goes by the Reddit name u/reallybadpennystocks, and he provides a step by step guide for how to do this on either iOS or Android. He claims to be playing over 100 miles from his PC and has only leveled his Dwarven Priest using this method. The setup relies on the recent addition of the Steam link to mobile devices, which allows for easy streaming to a phone or tablet from their PC.

Here is our guide for running an Android operating system on a Nintendo Switch. A console from 2017 or 2018 is still necessary in order to use Android on the Switch, but the process is now far simpler thanks to the use of a MicroSD card. By running the same Steam link app there, one could potentially be playing WoW: Classic in the home but on a portable device.

So why would someone want to do this? Well, like running Android on the Switch, there is simply the fun factor, the challenge of playing a game on a console that has no business being there. At the same time, the recent Nintendo Direct has shown us a nearly complete port of Overwatch running perfectly well on the Nintendo Switch, so there may be interest in porting WoW: Classic as well. Considering that the game is a mere 5GB on the PC, and has low hardware demands, it seems like an obvious move that players would buy into.

Anyone considering doing so should be careful, as this likely falls into a grey zone with regards to the Terms of Service agreement for the game. Clearly it is all in good fun, but still, consider testing it with a free trial account that allows players access to the base game until reaching level 20.

For now, few are likely to attempt playing WoW: Classic on the Switch, though some may do so simply to show that it is possible. Considering that Overwatch is launching in mid October, there may be a sliver of hope for WoW: Classic as well, though the odds are likely quite small.
