World of Warcraft has hundreds of mounts available to collect in-game. From PvP mounts to rare drops and professions, there is no shortage of ways to obtain a stylish new ride. Some of the most popular and epic looking mounts in WoW include Invincible's Reins, the Ashes of Al'ar, and the Reins of the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph.

RELATED: Classic WoW: 10 Rarest Mounts, Ranked From Worst To Best

Invincible and the Ashes of Al'ar are infamously annoying to farm due to their low drop rates, but they are far from the rarest. Excluding PVP mounts (which would have consisted of the bulk of this list), we compiled the mounts listed on worldofwargraphs with the fewest number of players that can say they own them.

Updated on August 15th, 2020 by Author: Looking to expand your mount arsenal? In a game as huge as World of Warcraft there are many rare and unusual mounts, so this list would have to be hundreds of entries long to include them all! Instead, we're adding five more of the rarest mounts on worldofwargraphs for your perusal. These beauties are sure to turn heads wherever your roam.

15 Feldrake

This mount is rare. Depending on your website of choice, the percentage of players that can call the Feldrake their own ranges from 0.1-2%. Why? You guessed it - it's a Trading Card Game reward. This card could be found in the "Timewalkers: War of the Ancients."

It's got quite a unique look with green vapor around the claws and the mark of the Burning Legion above its head. It's well suited for Warlocks or Demon Hunters and you don't have to empty your real-world wallet to get it. The mount is tradable, so be prepared to shell out quite a lot of gold if you want this one.

14 Crusader's Black Warhorse

Owned by roughly 0.1% of the population, the Crusader's Black Warhorse is tragically no longer available. Even if you love it to death, you won't be seen atop the back of this noble steed. This was the Horde-side reward for A Tribute to Immortality and was removed in Patch 4.0.3.

It's supposedly not as rare as the Alliance version. Perhaps because Horde are simply better raiders? The flame of faction rivalry may burn brightly - but the numbers don't lie. Sorry, Alliance!

13 Savage Raptor

Just like the Feldrake, the amount of players who actually own this mount depends on the source. Regardless of where on the 0.1-2% line it falls, this Raptor is rarely ever seen. It's a rare card from the "War of the Elements" pack, and as we are well aware, all TCG mounts are rare.

However, this one will continue to drop in popularity with all but the most dedicated of mount hunters. The Reins of the Red Primal Raptor which became obtainable in Patch 5.2.0 from the Isle of Giants looks almost identical to this one. Sadly, if you want to show off, you'll have to ask people around you to read your mount's tooltip.

12 Amani Dragonhawk

The Amani Dragonhawk was introduced to the game in the TCG's "Twilight of the Dragons" expansion pack during Patch 4.1.0. It's a simple mount with some pretty nice coloring that is perfect for Blood Elves (though every race can ride one).

It's great for igniting the Burning Crusade nostalgia, as it looks exactly like the Dragonhawks from Zul'Aman. If you want to buy this mount, It will cost about 4.8 million gold on average, according to wowhead.

11 Corrupted Hippogryph

Originally added in Patch 4.3.0 as a part of the TCG expansion "Crown of the Heavens," the Hippogryph received mixed reviews from the player base. Many felt the design was far too basic and blocky for a mount that essentially had to be bought with real money and luck.

However, fans argue that simplicity is beautiful. It's one of the few mounts that exist without a saddle (so that's pretty cool). Plus, Hippogryphs, in general, are great mounts due to their size and connection to Night Elf lore. If you're on a roleplay server, this might go great with a character's story.

10 White Riding Camel

It should come as no surprise that rewards from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game are rare. Like the next entry on the list, this camel is also owned by only 1% of players. It released in Patch 4.3 as a potential reward from the Tomb of the Forgotten expansion.

The model sadly isn't unique, as there are other camels obtainable through in-game means. Luckily, if you're gold-rich in WoW, you can purchase this off of the Auction House. Players who trade in their code to Landro Longshot get the mount as a tradable item.

9 Swift Shorestrider

This mount was originally added in Patch 4.3 but gained an updated model in Patch 8.1.5. According to wowhead, only 1% of profiles own this silly blue bird. Its rarity is due to it being a reward from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.

The Wasteland Tallstrider card containing the code can be found in the Throne of the Tides expansion pack. The card is found in roughly 1/484 packs. Not interested in taking the risk? It can be purchased for around $100 on eBay. There's a reason why so few people own this one.

8 Explorer's Jungle Hopper

Want to take to the skies in an Indiana Jones-style plane? Despite this mount having a relatively small proportion of players who own it, the Explorer's Jungle Hopper is quite easy to obtain. It's a reward from the newest recruit a friend promotion. All you need to get it is have a friend or friends recruited through you purchase 9 months of game time.

This means you can have one friend buy 9 months or 9 friends buy one month or any combination in-between. Some other interesting desert-exploration themed rewards come along with the mount as well.

7 Black Qiraji Battle Tank

This mount is legendary in both item quality and reputation. Obtaining it required a player to use the Scepter of the Shifting Sands on the Scarab Dais gong during the 10 hour battle with the Silithid during the opening of Ahn'Qiraj. The event only occurred once per server. Considering that the mount was only obtainable during a 10-hour window during vanilla World of Warcraft, it's no surprise this mount is rare.

That's not even taking into account the unbelievable difficulty of the questline to even obtain the Scepter in the first place. If you're interested in taking part in the nearly 30 quest-long-chain to obtain the mount in Classic, gamepedia has a guide for this ridiculous undertaking.

6 Crusader's White Warhorse

During Patch 3.2, there was a difficult achievement available called A Tribute to Immortality. This required players to complete the Trial of the Grand Crusader 25m without any players dying and 50 attempts remaining. The mount is no longer obtainable, contributing to its rarity.

Although ToGC wasn't the most difficult raid in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, not having a single player die is always a challenge. In combination with most players' disdain for the raid, these factors made this one of the rarest mounts in World of Warcraft.

5 Swift Zhevra

The Swift Zhevra was one of the rewards given to players who participated in the original Recruit A Friend promotion. The mount is no longer obtainable due to new rewards being implemented. Although we're not sure of the exact numbers, many people partook in the promotion. However, the reason the Swift Zhevra is so rare is that the other rewards offered were objectively more useful.

The other mounts offered included the X-53 Touring Rocket and the Heart of the Nightwing, which were both two-person flying mounts. Multi-person mounts were quite rare back when these first released -- as such, these mounts were much more appealing. The other two mounts were at least single-player flying mounts. The Zhevra is ground only.

4 White Stallion

When World of Warcraft first launched in late 2004, the epic racial mounts that we are familiar with today did not exist. The 100% speed versions only differed from the 60% speed mounts in color. Armored versions of the mounts became available in Patch 1.4. Players were allowed to trade in their now-unobtainable unarmored mounts for the updated version. Those who chose not to have the rarest mounts in existence today.

Pre-Patch 1.4 epic mounts available to humans were the White Stallion and the Palamino. Both were beautiful horses that almost nobody owns. Fun fact, the popular Youtuber CraniusPresents rode the White Stallion in his music video for Big Blue Dress. We have no idea if he still plays. If he does, he would be a legend in more than one way.

3 Black Nightsaber

The Black Nightsaber was summonable via the Reins of the Nightsaber. Like the White Stallion, this was the level 60 epic mount available to Night Elves pre-Patch 1.4. Its counterpart was the Ancient Frostsaber, a gorgeous all-white armorless tiger. Although you will seldom see a player riding this mount, to our eternal jealousy, the Night Elf NPC guards in Darnassus stroll proudly on these beauties.

If you want a black tiger mount, the Swift Zulian Panther has an almost identical appearance. There are two small differences: the lack of purple feathers beneath the saddle and the armor chains. However, the Zulian Panther is available from High Priestess Kilnara in Zul'Gurub. The Black Nightsaber will only be seen in our dreams.

2 Arctic Wolf

Just like the White Stallion and Black Nightsaber before it, the Arctic Wolf was one of the original level 60 epic mounts released in vanilla World of Warcraft. We're not sure why its the rarest version, but we speculate that it is simply because Orcs were less favored than Humans and Night Elves.

Perhaps more Orc players were keen to turn in their plain-looking wolf for the more interesting armored version. There was also a Horn of the Red Wolf available to Orcs at that time. It, for some reason, does not appear on the World of Wargraphs list.

1 Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider

The Fluorescent Green Mechanostrider is the rarest of the rare. Okay, this entry is cheating a little bit. Narshe of Frostmane EU is the only player to have ever owned this mount. During the days of vanilla World of Warcraft, the player accidentally deleted his mount. After submitting a ticket to the game masters, he was mistakenly given this recolor.

The Fluorescent Green version of the gnome racial mount was never meant to exist in-game. However, Blizzard let him keep it. Being the only player in the world to own it garnered Narshe a lot of fame. However, during Patch 6.2, the mount was removed from his collection. Rumors say the reason was that he tried to sell his account.
