10 Best Custom Characters Made In WWE 2K19

Just a little over a week is left until WWE 2K20 is released, bringing back wrestling favorites and legends like Hulk Hogan and Chyna. However, there will no doubt be quite a few omissions from the roster that won’t go down well with fans with Mr. Perfect, Sid Vicious, Lex Luger, DDP, and Vader already being confirmed as being missing from this year’s roster.

Thankfully, the WWE games have given players a powerful set of tools to create their own characters and better still, recreate their favorite wrestlers that are either missing from the roster or in different promotions. While many wrestling fans are anticipating the next release in the WWE 2K franchise, there’s still some life left in last year’s entry. Not least of all because there’s a huge selection of fan-created wrestlers that can be downloaded from servers, but because it will be worth keeping an eye on certain creators to see what magic they can come up with for WWE 2K20.

10 Hollywood Hulk Hogan - BHANGRA22MAN

Hulk’s Hollywood persona began when the Hulkster pulled a shocking heel turn in 1996 and formed the New World Order (nWo) in WCW. He was joined by Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as the original three members of one of the biggest factions in wrestling history.

Creator BHANGRA22MAN created one of the most popular and detailed versions of Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Obviously, Hogan’s name couldn't be used in the game due to copyright and the closest gamers can get is Hank Hagan during announcements. However, Nash and Hall’s nWo entrance theme works perfectly during his ring walk.

9 Kenny Omega – DEFRACT

Kenny Omega is considered one of today’s best performers in the wrestling business. He was a huge draw in Japan wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling winning the IWGP championship and forming The Bullet Club faction with current WWE US Champ AJ Styles.

Unlike Styles, Kenny chose to turn down several offers from the WWE and most recently joined new rival wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) instead. Creator DEFRACT’s Kenny Omega CAW is the closest fans will get to creating dream matches between Styles and Omega in a WWE arena.

8 Mankind – SAMOHT1810

The Mankind character was played by famed hardcore and extreme wrestler Mick Foley. The character was dark and maniacal and eventually become one of the “Three faces of Foley” with other famous characters Cactus Jack and Dude Love. The character is a huge influence on current WWE star Bray Wyatt “The Fiend” persona.

Foley was noticeably absent from WWE 2K19 so creator SAMOHT1810 put together an incredibly accurate version of Mankind for fans to download. Of course, he will be appearing in the upcoming WWE 2K20.

7 The Dudley Boyz – WIZARDOFTHEY

The Dudley Boyz were one of the biggest and most popular teams during wrestling’s Attitude Era. They first found worldwide recognition in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) before working in the WWE in 1999. The had classic triple threat matches against the tag teams The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian.

The Dudleys appeared in WWE 2K17 but have noticeably absent since leaving it to creators like WIZARDOFTHEY to make unbelievably detailed recreations of their own. The characters come complete with their full move sets and tag team finisher.

6 The Brian Kendrick – RAZABACK_1987

Brian Kendrick is a cruiserweight wrestler that performs for WWE’s 205 Live which is a brand that gives the smaller high flying wrestlers a chance to shine instead of working dark or opening matches to warm up the crowds.

Kendrick is a favorite among wrestling fans who followed his career from his days in New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor. He was surprisingly left off the WWE 2K19 roster so it was left to creators like RAZABACK_1987 to put together a near picture-perfect recreation of one of the show’s biggest stars.

5 Hulk Hogan 2002 – BHANGRA22MAN

Hulk Hogan is the wrestling star that was responsible for bringing the WWE and wrestling in general into the mainstream. After appearing on Rocky 3 and impressed with his presence and charisma Vince McMahon made Hogan the WWE’s very own larger than life superhero.

When Hogan returned to the WWE to face The Rock at Wrestlemania X8. Despite entering the match as the heel Hollywood Hogan, the fans clearly loved seeing Hogan back in a WWE ring again. As a result, Hogan reverted back to his red and yellow color scheme with a few notable differences. It’s the 2002 version of Hogan that creator BHANGRA22MAN went with here and it's definitely worth downloading for all the Hulkamaniacs out there.

4 Taz – RAZABACK_1987

Taz was a performer that worked for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), Total Nonstop Wrestling (TNA), and the WWE. He was ECW’s biggest stars during the promotion’s peak and was sold as a shootfighter capable of destroying everyone that stood in his way in spite of his size.

While he didn’t quite have the same success in the WWE when he joined the promotion in 2000, his fan following never waned. Naturally, there’s no shortage of wrestling fans looking to recreate him in a WWE game and RAZABACK_1987’s version is one of the best.

3 The Legion Of Doom – DYNOMYTECAW

The Legion of Doom also known as The Road Warriors outside of the WWE is still considered one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Their distinctive look, size, and high impact wrestling style made them famous all over the world and would draw huge crowds where ever they wrestled.

Unfortunately, Animal, the only surviving member of the team is caught up in a class-action lawsuit against the WWE for brain injuries. It is for that reason as to why they haven’t been included in a WWE game for years. Fortunately, creator DYNOMYTECAW has created almost perfect recreations of one of the best tag teams of all time.

2 Kazuchika Okada – GAZWEFC

Kazuchika Okada is a Japanese wrestler that performs for New Japan Pro Wrestling. He famed for having consistent 5 Star matches with his notable being against current AEW star Kenny Omega. In addition to NJPW, Okada also worked for the American wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Unfortunately, Okada has never wrestled in a WWE ring but that doesn’t mean that creators like GAZWEFC can’t make this a reality. His recreation is incredibly accurate and comes complete with his signature move sets and finishers.

1 Demolition – DYNOMYTECAW

WWE tag team Demolition consisted of Axe and Smash and was formed in 1987 as the promotion’s answer to The Road Warriors - who would later debut as The Legion of Doom. Just like The Road Warriors, their look was based on the Mad Max films.

Unfortunately, it has been years since fans have seen the team in a WWE game because just like the last remaining member of The Road Warriors Animal, they are also involved in a class-action lawsuit with the WWE for brain injuries. Thankfully, creator DYNOMYTECAW has created scarily accurate looks for the team which comes complete with their moves and iconic picture-perfect face paint.
