A recent leak suggests that WWE 2K20 will be released in October 2019 and Becky Lynch, aka “The Man," will be the game's cover star.
WWE ensures that an annual video game is released based on its license, with the next one in line being WWE 2k20. The WWE games are usually announced at E3, but information about the game may have leaked on Twitter.
According to Fox Sport Asia, a user on Twitter has leaked a document containing information about WWE 2k20. The wrestler on the cover will be Becky Lynch, who recently shot to stardom thanks to her amazing program against Ronda Rousey, culminating in a three-way match at Wrestlemania with Charlotte Flair, which Lynch won. Lynch is being pushed in the same way Stone Cold Steve Austin was during the Attitude Era, so it's no surprise to see her being promoted on the cover of the latest WWE game.
Becky Lynch is not the only female WWE star who will be part of WWE 2k20, however, as Chyna will be available as a pre-order bonus. Chyna's inclusion in the game makes sense, as she was finally inducted into WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 as part of D-Generation X. Chyna is a significant wrestler and it was mostly her appearances in adult movies and her inflammatory comments about the management of WWE that kept her out of the Hall of Fame for so long, even though she passed away in 2016.
The document claims that D-Generation X will be a big part of the collector's edition of WWE 2k20, which will include DX dog tags signed by Triple H and Road Dogg. The game will also come with a documentary about the history of the group.
The leaked document also confirms the return of My GM mode, which allows players to take over one of the brands (Raw, Smackdown, or NXT) and try to defeat the others. The document claimed that the Becky Lynch cover reveal will happen on June 24, the Chyna trailer will drop on July 29, the extra D-Generation X content will be revealed in a trailer on August 1, and the My GM mode content will be revealed in a trailer on August 7, 2019.
According to the document, the collector's/deluxe editions of WWE 2k20 will be released early on October 1, while the standard edition will be released on October 5, 2019.
The validity of the leaked document has yet to be confirmed, so its information should still be considered as a rumor until proven otherwise.
