WWE 2K20 is so bad that Sony is handing out refunds to players who purchased the game through the PlayStation Store.

WWE 2K doesn't have the best track record with wrestling game fans. For the past few years, it has felt as if the developer is releasing the same game each year and just changing the cover star. Nevertheless, some fans have made their peace with that and continue to buy the games each year. At least it'll have an updated roster and a new Showcase Mode, right?

Well yes, but this year, that's not enough. WWE 2K20 does have an updated roster, but the graphics look like they have been rolled back about half a decade or more. Most will know by now that the graphics are the least of 2K's problems. Since the game's release two days ago, social media has been inundated with screenshots and videos of glitches ranging from hilarious to downright baffling, and most have been accompanied by the hashtag #FixWWE2K20.

Simply put, WWE 2K20 is broken. So broken that it's likely developers at 2K's studio are sitting around not really knowing where to start when it comes to fixing it. At the time of typing this, there have been no patches at all, and this is now day three of the game being on the market. Clearly, some players are sick of waiting and have gone to Sony for refunds if they bought the game through the PlayStation Store.

Players who bought WWE 2K20 through the PS Store might want to take note as in some cases, Sony is going through with the refunds. There's an example of one taking place in the tweet above. Disgruntled players are either calling Sony or using the company's live chat option and telling the person on the other end that the game is broken. There have been mixed reports as to how long it is taking for people to be successfully issued with a refund, reports GameRant.

As for why WWE 2K20 is so much worse than the games which have come before it, there are a few schools of thought. 2K parted ways with Yuke's between 2K19 and 2K20. Yuke's has been working on WWE video games for far longer than 2K, and its departure from the partnership could well be why 2K20 is so bad. Other reasons for the poorly put together game could be time constraints or good old fashioned laziness. Whatever it is, the end product players have been handed is inexcusable.
