With every release, the developers of WWE 2K22 have the impossible task of releasing a game with an up-to-date roster. Wrestlers change their looks, entrance music, and of course, leave the company for other promotions.
Thanks to the talented work of community creators, many fans will rely on them to update their looks - whether it's classic or new - and attire or include wrestlers that are no longer with the WWE. These creators will also build accurate recreations of wrestlers from different promotions, so fans can have their dream matches in WWE 2K22 that would otherwise be impossible to see and play. Before looking at some of the best custom wrestlers in the Community Creations suite, here is a rundown of how to download them:
How To Download The Custom Wrestlers
- Press R1/RB to Scroll to the Online Menu.
- Select Community Creations.
- Select Downloads.
- Select the Superstars tab.
- Press the Triangle/Y button.
- Select one of the Hashtags options
- Select My Hashtags.
- Type in the Creator's Username and select the wrestler.
- It's advisable to check the wrestler's movesets to make sure that all their moves, signatures, and finishers are there.
8 Kenny Omega
- Creator: Defract.
Kenny Omega is currently one of the AEW's biggest stars. He made his name having "Match of the Year" performances in New Japan Pro-Wrestling against Kazuchika Okada. Omega is also a former AEW World Champion and AEW Tag Team Champion.
There is an AEW video game in development and Omega hasn't officially appeared in a wrestling game since Fire Pro Wrestling World. For fans of Omega's body of work, he is a must download with community creator Defract's version being one of the best and most realistic available.
7 CM Punk
- Creator: MisterFiendX.
The former Ring of Honor and WWE star CM Punk made huge waves during his time in Vince McMahon's promotion. For a long time, Punk stepped away from wrestling as he had no desire to return to the WWE.
Instead, Punk made a huge return to the ring with the WWE's biggest rival All Elite Wrestling. There Punk found a new appreciation for wrestling and has put on great matches against the younger talent there. As a result of CM Punk signing with AEW, it's unlikely that Punk will ever appear in a WWE game again. At least not in an official capacity. Thanks to the community creator MisterFiendX fans can download a near-perfect recreation of Punk now.
6 Chris Jericho
- Creator: Defract.
A wrestler that made his name in WCW before making one of the biggest debuts in WWE history, Chris Jericho is easily one of the greatest of all time. This is thanks to his body of work in the WWE, Japan, and now AEW.
At 51 years old, Jericho doesn't seem to be showing signs of slowing down as the Fozzy frontman looks like he's in the best shape he's been in years. Jericho has reinvented himself so many times it would be impossible to predict if he'll ever appear in the WWE again. Until then, however, creator Defract has an excellent recreation ready for download.
5 Diamond Dallas Page
- Creator: KELSCREATIONS.
Diamond Dallas Page started in WCW in a more managerial role than wrestling. However, his hard work paid off, and he rose to become one of the most popular and hard-working wrestlers in the company.
DDP is better known today for his DDP Yoga - a modified version of Power Yoga - workout videos and fitness apps. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that DDP will make an appearance in this year's WWE 2K22. Thankfully, community creator KELSCREATIONS has made him a downloadable character.
4 Kazuchika Okada
- Creator: Defact.
Considered as being one of the greatest performers of all time, Kazuchika Okada is one of NJPW's most talented stars and the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
Okada has competed for TNA in America and Lucha Libre promotions in Mexico, but his success came from being in the IWGP, so it's unlikely the star will ever want to work for the WWE. The best way to see Okada in a WWE ring is to download Defract's creation from WWE 2K22's community content.
3 The Giant
- Creator: KELSCREATIONS.
Before Paul Wight was known as the Big Show in the WWE, he was introduced as The Giant in WCW. During his earlier days in the promotion Wight was far more athletic and muscular and many fans believe that many of his best matches were in WCW until the company started losing its direction.
The Big Show has been a mainstay in WWE games for around 20 years. Since joining AEW as a commentator and occasional performer, he is noticeably absent from WWE 2K22. However, thanks to KELSCREATIONS fans of the big man can download an accurate version of his days as The Giant.
2 Malakai Black
- Creator: Zaddik.
Known to WWE fans as Aleister Black during his run in NXT and on RAW, after leaving on good terms he decided to work elsewhere — and that includes the AEW and some independent circuits at the same time as Malakai Black.
As Black is no longer with the WWE, he didn't make it into WWE 2K22. However, thanks to the amazing work created by Zaddik, you can download an accurate recreation of him from the Community Creations suite.
1 Triple H ‘98
- Creator: WhatsTheStatus.
If there is one major complaint fans have about WWE 2K22 it's that the MyRise and MyFaction have exclusive wrestlers that can't be used in any of the match types outside, exhibitions, the General Manager, or Universe modes. One of the first discoveries in MyFaction was the 1998 version of Triple H complete with long hair and different music.
However, thanks to some magic conjured up by the talented content creator WhatsTheStatus, this version is available to download now. He can be added as an alternate attire for the modern version of Triple H. Or if fans would like to hear him make his entrance to his classic "My Time" or DX soundtracks, they can play actually do it.
However, for some reason, the announcer and commentators will only refer to him as "The Superstar". It's worth checking out WhatsTheStatus' other uploads and modifications.
