From the original Xbox all the way to the One, players have seen countless games come and go throughout the years. Some succeed, some fail miserably, but a few of those special titles stick around and become classics, and as they dwindle in numbers the demand for them rises.

On top of this, you have the deluxe packages that contain all sorts of merchandise for the especially dedicated fans among us. Limited releases will often lead to hundreds or thousands of copies being worth much more than stock copies. Collectors around the world will pay big money for the best or most rare games on the market today. That said, let's have a look at some of the rarest ones to be had for Xbox.

10 Assassin's Creed 2: The Master Assassins Edition

Assassin's Creed has cemented itself as one of the pillar franchises in the gaming community, becoming a household name to gamers everywhere. Whether it was Ezio's smug charm or the acrobatic style of transportation that drew you in, it remains one of the most popular series to date.

The Master Assassin's Edition contained a 9-inch statue of the parkour protagonist and an assortment of exclusive maps to collect. That's the reason the game continues to sell for over $180 to this day.

9 Final Fantasy XV: Ultimate Collectors Edition

This is uncommon only because of how new it is compared to most of the other titles. Released in 2016, the Ultimate Collectors Edition of Final Fantasy XV was only given 30,000 copies worldwide, and was limited to one per customer.

Selling over 8 million copies worldwide, so less than 1% of the people could even purchase this edition and explains the $400 price tag that hangs off of it. Players do get a special edition and a full CD set of music in film and games.

8 Steel Battalion

Coming with one of the most intricate controllers known to video games kind, it's not too difficult to wrap your head around the price point. Emulating a fully operational control system for a mech, it comes with 40 buttons that you have to navigate as the game progresses.

While being able to control an upright tank does sound like a good time, it will quickly teach you that 40 buttons are more of a job than a relaxing time. You can find it in brand new condition on Amazon for a whopping $2200, or you can buy it used for a quarter of the price.

7 Dead Space: Ultra Limited Edition

Living up to the title of "Ultra-Limited," only 1,000 copies of this hit survival-horror game's mega special edition actually exist, each with its own numbered and signed certificate. The box is one of the most loaded editions of a game to date.

It contains a signed postcard from the creator of the game, Glen Schofield. It also had signed art books, exclusive movies and graphic novels, among other goodies. It sounds like things are all sunshine and rainbows for this one (until you get to the $800 minimum price).

6 Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis

To make a serious understatement on it, this game is very hard to come across. Like with anything rare or exclusive it commands a pretty penny, with copies being sold at over $200.

Many games from 2003 can be found at the bottom of a bargain bin at your local Wal Mart. Getting to design and build your very own Jurassic Park has been in the back of everyone's mind since the movies were released. Unfortunately, you'll have to break the bank if you want to get your hands on one.

5 Gauntlet: Dark Legacy

Going back to the old dungeon crawler days, Dark Legacy is the perfect game for a group of people to get together on retro night. Bringing back the truly fun elements of the 2000's co-op games, you help your friends through each stage and split the rewards at the end.

Due to the slow decline in copies of older games, Dark Legacy has grown scarce over the years. And with less than 10 copies going up per year, you've either got to be diligent or lucky to stumble across one. Coming in at $80 for a brand new edition it's ageing like a fine wine.

4 Test Drive: Eve Of Destructions

Coming in as one of the few great demolition derby games, Eve of Destruction is a classic among racing game aficionados. As the game ages fewer and fewer copies are popping up, but the demand for the king of racing destruction hasn't died down yet, driving the price up to the $50 point it currently stands at.

With some players still regarding it as the most enjoyable racing title after such a long time, especially with Forza and Need For Speed games pumping out every year is an impressive feat. Highly collectible and with no decline in price in sight, Eve of Destruction is the perfect game for the conservative collector.

3 Star Wars Battlefront II

When the Star Wars fans support something it usually ends up being worth a decent amount. High demand for a game made in 2005 is what keeps the title alive and costing upwards of $40 for a brand new copy of the original.

The developers recognized the continued want for the game and decided to remake it in 2017, upgrading the graphics and controls to suit the modern era. Unfortunately, they put a few purchase options in that the fans didn't appreciate, and so the original game still gets love, and was made backwards compatible for the Xbox One.

2 Sniper Elite

In a list of deluxe editions and limited releases, Sniper Elite failed its way to the top of the food chain. Not commanding an interest when it was first released, Sniper Elite's production was dropped and resulted in there being very limited numbers today.

Instead of the gritty, action-filled shooters that command popularity today, Sniper Elite is more about tactics than action. Having advanced mechanics for its time, players have to calculate wind, breath, and placement to hit their mark. It's on the cheaper end of the scale, coming at only $50.

1 Digimon Rumble Arena 2

Ah, 2004. Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh were cartoon royalty, and Super Smash Bros. was the ultimate party game. The only logical thing to do would be to combine the two, adding a health bar for good luck and shipping it out, Digimon Rumble Arena was a hit.

When the sequel came out, it brought with it even more playable characters. If you have a brand new copy of the game it can sell upwards of $90, but if you actually want to play it, you can get a complete copy for $40.
