Gamecom kicks off today in Cologne, Germany, and Microsoft plans to start the event with some big announcements this afternoon.

This year's E3 conference was jam-packed with big news. From Marvel's Avengers to the trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake, honestly, we are still recovering from it. Well, if you feel as if you're in the same boat, you had better hurry up and prepare yourselves. That's because this week is Gamescom week, one of the biggest weeks on the video game calendar.

The convention is taking place in Cologne, Germany, and a number of developers, creators, and companies will be using it as a platform to make some big announcements, such as Microsoft. Microsoft plans on kicking Gamescom week off with a bang. Later today, (Monday, August 19, 2019) Microsoft will debut the latest episode of Inside Xbox, and it seems as if it'll be jam-packed with news.

The list of what we can expect from the event is a pretty long one. Gears 5's Horde Mode will be shown off for the first time, plus trailers for nearly a dozen other games will premier during the event, according to Gamespot. As if all of that makes the show can't miss already, there will also be new information pertaining to Destiny 2, Blair Witch, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint unveiled.

If you are now chomping at the bit to watch the event, you can, providing you're not reading this after it has taken place. The latest episode of Inside Xbox will air live on Mixer, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter at 5 pm local time in Germany on Monday, August 19, 2019. That's 11 am EST for those of you on the East coast of the US and Canada. Personally, we can't think of a better way to spend the final hour of your mornings.

If you are reading this after the event has aired, or you simply won't be around to see it live, be sure to stay tuned to TheGamer for all of the announcement coming out of it. As for more Xbox announcements, it won't be one and done for Microsoft at Gamescom. There's an entire week to fill after all. If you're in attendance at Gamescom, Xbox is hosting an Open Doors event every night between August 21 and 23 where people can stop by and try out new games.
