It's been a few months since we had to talk about that stupid Xbox marketing stunt that somehow gained a life of its own and is now forever tormenting Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg.

It all started as a joke. People thought that the Xbox Series X looked like a fridge, so of course Microsoft made an actual Xbox fridge. Then they decided to collab with energy drink maker Zoa to create a miniature version of the Xbox Series X fridge and send it to a few celebrities (namely, the Rock and Snoop Dogg).

When Xbox failed to say anything official about Snoop Dogg tapping energy drinks from an Xbox-branded beer fridge, Greenberg got on Twitter to confirm the existence of the mini-fridge in his acceptance speech at the Best of Tweets Brand Bracket Championship. Xbox narrowly defeated Skittles in that cutthroat tournament, resulting in a promise of cool beverages being sent to the candymaker in the near future.

Fast forward a few months and we're still without Xbox mini-fridges even though Microsoft took over the news cycle yesterday with a ton of announcements for Game Pass, cloud gaming, and more. 'Where were the mini-fridges?' asked one eager Xbox gamer, to which Aaron Greenberg replied:

"The future of Xbox is not complete without the Mini Fridge. Hope to not leave you out in the cold for too much longer. Will share more when we can!

At this rate, we're going to waiting until E3 2022 before we see Xbox mini-fridges go on sale.

In case you missed it, Microsoft is further expanding Xbox Game Pass into game streaming, with potential deals with TV manufacturers and telecommunications providers to let you buy a TV with a Game Pass subscription and app already inside. Microsoft also plans to make a Chromestick-style device for Game Pass on non-Smart TVs and will release a new first-party game every quarter to make sure Game Pass remains the best way to play Xbox games as soon as they're made.
