The long-awaited gameplay presentation for Xbox Series X finally went live today – and Aaron Greenberg immediately popped a fridge joke about the console.

"I'm excited to be coming to you live from my kitchen," Xbox's games marketing manager quipped, clearly in front of a green-screen. "I'm drinking nonstop drinks out of the world's fastest, most powerful fridge!" Behind Greenberg was an image of one of the most popular jokes to come out of the Series X reveal – the fridge meme.

The Xbox Series X is notoriously block-like in appearance, only a few steps away from resembling a futuristic refrigerator. The internet noticed, of course, and went to work creating plenty of memes poking fun at the console's shape. Luckily, Microsoft caught wind of the memes and decided to open their Inside Xbox presentation with it.

As it turns out, the shape is intended to keep things cool – just not food. The visual design aids in keeping the machine's hardware at lower average temperatures, boosting its performance and longevity.

Greenberg's joke was a great way to kickoff the show, considering the fans' positive reaction to the humorous reference. Team Xbox was smart to embrace their community, swallowing their pride and adding in some self-deprecating humor; Damon Baker even made a joke about Phil Spencer's office resembling an evil lair. Either way – even if the Series X does look like a giant fridge – everyone's still dying to get their hands on one.
