XCOM 2 Releasing Massive DLC Love Letter To Fans Next Week - And It's Free If You Own The Game

The PC version of XCOM 2 is about to receive a huge new update that is going to be free upon launch to those who own the base game and the War of the Chosen expansion. Those who own both can download the Tactical Legacy Pack for free until December 3rd.

XCOM 2 was widely acclaimed by both critics and fans upon release, as it improved on almost every aspect of the original game. The success of XCOM 2 led to the release of an expansive DLC set called XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, which added a ton of new features and options, as well as three powerful recurring enemies for you to battle.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen - Tactical Legacy Pack will be adding new content to the game, most notably in the form of the Legacy Operations mode, which intends to fill in the events between Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2. This mode will consist of four maps that only involve combat without any of the base building aspects of the game.

The prequel missions will use remastered enemies, maps, and weapons from XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which can also be used in the main campaign modes. You can also listen to tracks from XCOM: Enemy Unknown and remastered tracks from the earlier games in the series in the various game modes.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen - Tactical Legacy Pack will also include a Skirmish mode, which lets you quickly create combat missions based on rules that you specify beforehand. There is also an Offline Challenge Mode, which will allow you to play through all one-hundred of the challenge missions from War of the Chosen.

Those of you who want to play the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen - Tactical Legacy Pack on consoles are out of luck, as all of this content will be exclusive to the PC version only.

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen - Tactical Legacy Pack will be available to download for free to those who own War of the Chosen for PC on October 9th and it will remain free until December 3rd.
