Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is an immense game that you can easily sink hundreds of hours into. Whether you decide to explore the vast environments, complete endless side quests or build your reputation with the local people, there’s a lot to choose from.

While discovering the many places across Bionis and Mechonis is a great way to spend your time, there’s something to be said for building relationships within your party, too. By giving the characters in your party the right gifts, you can raise the Affinity between each character, which in turn improves their performance in battle together. However, every character has their own individual likes and dislikes, (and giving them a disliked gift has a negative effect on their Affinity), so you’ll want to make sure the gifts you give are actually something they want.

How To Give Gifts To Party Members

To start giving gifts to your party members, you'll need to open up the Affinity Chart from the main menu. Once you've opened it up, select "Affinity Chart: Party". It should automatically be highlighted for you. Here, you can see the Affinity between each character.

To start giving gifts, press Y. Select who will give a gift to another character. Then, select who will receive the gift. A menu with all your Collectables will open up, allowing you to choose which Collectable should be given as a gift.

Make sure you give gifts between all the characters by changing who gives gifts. This means you'll raise the Affinity between every member of the party, allowing you to unlock more Heart-to-Hearts.
