Sadly, Twitch streamers being subjected to SWAT raids during streams is nothing new and has become an unfortunately common occurrence in the past few years. Despite this, no SWAT raid story is quite as bizarre as that of Felix "xQc" Lengyel, who has revealed that police thought was a meth addict when they swatted his house.
For those who are unaware, swatting is when someone prank calls the police to report false claims of criminal activity and sends the SWAT team over to the target's house. In the case of streamers, viewers place the call in hopes of watching police raid the streamer's home in real-time as a form of harassment.
According to a report by Dexerto, while he was reacting to some videos from Dirty Data on a recent Twitch stream, xQc broke his silence on the time he got swatted at his first apartment in Glendale. As he explained that the SWAT team searched his house for threats or other evidence of a crime in progress, he laughed at the absurdity of the police thinking he was using hard drugs.
"I think they thought I was, like, a meth addict or some shit," xQc said. "They kept asking, 'Dude, when was the last time you've eaten?' and I was like, 'Six hours ago.' Like, 'No, dude, give me the truth, man. When was the last time you've gotten food?' I'm like, 'Dude, I just told you, like, six hours ago.' 'OK, sure man. When was the last time you had some sleep?' I'm like, 'Dude, like, yesterday, man.'"
xQc was so bewildered by all the random, unsolicited questions the police were asking him, he said they believed he was some "crazy meth head that has been up for days not eating any food". Despite all the interrogation police put him through, xQc made it very clear that he is not a meth head, nor will he ever be.
Because he and other streamers in the area got swatted more often than not, xQc has since moved from Texas to Canada, where he originated, to avoid any further swatting incidents.
