Yakuza Ishin! is headed to the West for the first time with a new remaster titled Like A Dragon: Ishin! For those unaware, Yakuza Ishin! first launched for the PS3 and PS4 way back in 2014 but has been exclusive to Japan up until this point. We didn't get a specific date, but the game is coming at some point in February next year. It's unknown as to whether Ryu Ga Gotoku also plans to remaster the much older title Yakuza Kenzan! which is also exclusive to Japan.

Announced via a new trailer at PlayStation's most recent State of Play, it opens up to see Kiryu stood over the dead body of a man which he has presumably murdered, sword in hand and covered in blood. We then get a quick glance at some of the game's remastered location as Kiryu walks between an army of samurai. The trailer then transitions to several popular Yakuza character clashing swords before showing us some fast-paced gameplay.

The combat segments shows Kiryu slicing up enemies with his katana whilst also blowing away some enemies with a handheld firearm. The rest of the trailer showcases the Yakuza charm that we all know and love, showing people fighting tigers, slicing bullets in half with swords, and some silly, over-the-top attacks the series is known for. Finally, it wouldn't be a yakuza trailer without Majima showing up somehow, as the final scene shows the Mad Dog starting what is likely an intense sword fight with Kiryu.

After the State of Play, Ryu ga Gotoku revealed more details about Like A Dragon: Ishin! explaining that it will be the first game in the series to be developed on Unreal Engine 4 and that more details about the game will be shown off during the RGG Summit that will take place tomorrow. It's also expected that this event will likely include PC ports of both Judgment and Lost Judgment as well as a sneak peek at Yakuza 8.
