You're never too old to live out your dreams, as an 82-year-old YouTube sensation has found out. Shirley Curry, who goes by the name, "Skyrim Grandma," on her YouTube channel, will be included as a non-playable character in Elder Scrolls VI, a move set to immortalize the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim fan.

This development comes as a result of a fan petition which has seen 45,000 people (and counting) pen their approval. Bethesda has taken notice and, in an Elder Scrolls 25th anniversary stream, they announced that Skyrim Grandma will be an NPC in the sixth installment of the game.

“This means a lot to me,” Curry remarks in the video. “Because I would be extremely happy to know that somebody else was playing with my character in a future Elder Scrolls game.”

Bethesda also opened up on the technology that will allow them to add Shirley to the game, revealing that they plan to use photogrammetry. The tech is able to take scans of real-life objects and turn them into high-quality 3D subjects. This will be used to set up the game's environment, with something similar being used to get the celebrity grandma in Elder Scrolls VI.

Shirley, who has 483,000 subscribers on YouTube, posts Let's Plays of Skyrim and communicates with her viewers via vlogs. She has since taken to Twitter to confirm her addition to the game, showing off a T-shirt she received after paying a visit to Besthesda's studios.

“Well, since they made the announcement today about me, as a character in the next TES game ...I can show my favorite thing I brought away with me!!!,” she tweeted.

There's not much to go on regarding the game's release, or Shirley's role. Perhaps she turns out to be a formidable bandit, but it's more likely that she ends up playing an amicable traveler.

In real life, this sweet granny is a mother of four sons and the grandmother of nine grandchildren. She uses her free time to play and record videogames, her obvious favorite being Skyrim.
