Great news for Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links fans. Duelists will soon be able to enjoy the world of VRAINS, the sixth anime series set in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!, with a new expansion coming to Duel Links on September 28. And as the official announcement said, "that's not all!" You'll also be able to summon new monsters courtesy of Link Summoning, and there's going to be a celebration campaign where you can obtain exclusive rewards and giveaways.For those who haven't seen the series, VRAINS stars Yusaku Fujiki, a hacker genius who goes by "Playmaker" in the virtual world of Den City. Yusaku defends the virtual world from corporate spies and a group of hackers called the Knights of Hanoi, who are both after an artificial intelligence that's loose in LINK VRAINS. When Yusaku finds the AI first he appropriately names the artificial sentience "Ai." They also go on an adventure to defeat the bad guys and uncover secrets about an event from Yusaku's past.
The big deal about VRAINS is Link Summoning, which allows you to summon a big scary monster by linking them to other, smaller monsters. The show also mentions Speed Duels, which is a format that's been the mainstay of Duel Links since the game was released on mobile in 2016.
As for the Celebration Campaign, Duel Links players can expect rewards including the Ultra Rare card "Code Talker" in foil colors (or "Prismatic," in the parlance of Yu-Gi-Oh!), the Super Rare card "Cyberse Wizard" (also in Prismatic colors), and the Super Rare "Backup Secretary" in Prismatic too. Duel Links is also giving away Ultra Rare and Super Rare Dream Tickets, which can be traded in for cards, as well as Gems, Accessories, and a Skill Ticket.
Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS arrives in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links on September 28.
