Evolzar Dolkka is one of the powerful Xyz Monsters that Dinosaur decks have access to, though it's requirement of need two Level Four Dinosaur Monsters to Xyz summon keep it within Dinosaur decks.

Despite this restriction, it has a phenomenal effect that helps keep Dinosaurs in the metagame. Whenever a Monster effect is activated, you can detach a material from Evolzar Dolkka and negate and destroy it. This effect is not once per turn either, allowing it to be used as two (and sometimes) more negates to make it hard for the opponent to make their Monster-based plays.

14 Leviair The Sea Dragon

yugioh Leviair the Sea Dragon card art and text

Leviair The Sea Dragon is a key card in decks that run Level Three Monsters, especially those that banish their Monsters a lot such as Burning Abyss decks. Leviair The Sea Dragon is a Rank Three Xyz Monster that can detach a material to special summon a Level Four or lower Monsters that was banished.

Normally, getting cards back from the banished zone is quite difficult. However, Leviair The Sea Dragon makes it almost trivial. It is a key piece in many combo decks, allowing you to recycle powerful on-summon effects. It isn't a hard once per turn effect either, allowing it to be used multiple times a turn with multiple copies of itself.

13 Castel, The Skyblaster Musketeer

yugioh Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer card art and text

Castel, The Skyblaster Musketeer was once the face of the meta in its prime. While its usage has dipped down in more recent years, it is still a fantastic Xyz Monster. It uses generic materials, only needing two Level Four Monsters to Xyz summon. It has two different effects depending on necessity.

By detaching one material, it will put a Monster into face-down Defense Position. By detaching two, you can shuffle a face-up card on the field into the deck. This allows you to get rid of problem Monsters by being able to destroy them through battle, or shuffling them away to not have to worry about them entirely.

12 Number 41: Bagooska The Terribly Tired Tapir

yugioh Number 41 Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir card art and text

Number 41: Bagooska The Terribly Tired Tapir is a fantastic floodgate on a hard to get rid of Monster. It uses generic materials, only requiring two Level Four Monsters to summon. It does have a maintenance cost, and if you cannot detach a material during your Standby Phase it is destroyed.

So long as it is Attack Position, it can't be targeted or destroyed by card effects. Its more important effect is when it's in Defense Position, where it forces all Monsters into Defense Position and will negate the effects of all the Monsters in the position. This slows the opponent down, allowing you to build up resources for victory.

11 Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy

yugioh Number 38 Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy card art and text

On top of having a mouthful of a name, Number 38: Hope Harbinger Titanic Galaxy is the best Rank Eight Xyz Monster out there. Whenever an opponent actives a Spell card or effect, Hope Harbinger will negate it and attach it to itself as a material, no activation cost needed. It's a soft once per turn effect, meaning multiple copies can negate multiple Spell cards.

It also can help during the Battle Phase. By detaching a material when an opponent declares an attack, Hope Harbinger can redirect the attack to itself. Since it has a whopping 3000 Attack, odds are it will be able to beat whatever Monster that is attacking.

10 Number 60: Dugares The Timeless

yugioh dugares card art and text

Number 60: Dugares the Timeless is a generic Rank Four Monster and comes with a slew of great effects. By detaching two materials from it, you can draw two cards and discard one, special summon a Monster from the Graveyard, or double the attack of a Monster. While the last effect isn't too special, the other effects are fantastic.

Dugares the Timeless is a great Xyz Monster for fixing your hand or extending for more Link plays. Many decks that require specific cards tend to find space for Dugares in the Extra Deck since it helps to dig for needed combo pieces.

9 Number 39: Utopia Double

yugioh utopia double card art and text

For quite some time, Number 39: Utopia Double was not on anyone's radar. However, it was discovered to be a part of an easy-to-build OTK that only needed two Level Four Monsters to make. Utopia Double searches out Double or Nothing, then tags out for the vanilla Number 39: Utopia.

By doing so, it gives Utopia double the Attack stat, and Utopia negates its own attack. Then, Double or Nothing can be activated to double the Attack again, giving it over 8000 Attack to easily take out the opponent in one turn.

8 Time Thief Redoer

yugioh time thief redoer art and text

Time Thief Redoer instantly became a staple in Rank Four toolbox decks from the moment it was released. It has the potential to completely disrupt the opponent's strategy thanks to its ability to steal a card from the top of the opponent's deck. It has three different effects that occur if a specific kind of card is detached from it.

It's a unique mechanic not seen previously, and the effects are nothing to scoff at either. Drawing cards is never bad, and banishing Time Thief Redoer can send important cards to the Graveyard if they need to be there.

7 Dante, Traveler Of The Burning Abyss

yugioh dante traveler of the burning abyss card art and text

Dante, Traveler Of The Burning Abyss is one of the strongest Rank Three Xyz Monsters, and one of the key reasons the Burning Abyss deck has been so good for so long. This is thanks to its effect to mill three cards as a cost.

Burning Abyss and many other decks want to dump a lot of cards in the Graveyard, so having a guaranteed way to do so is fantastic. Dante, Traveler Of The Burning Abyss will get stat boosts from doing so, and if it's ever taken care of, you can just recycle it back into the deck with its floating effect.

6 Dingirsu, The Orcust Of The Evening Star

yugioh dingirsu the orcust of the evening star card art and text

Dingirsu, The Orcust Of The Evening Star is one of the strongest Xyz Monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! for how many things it can do. It can be made with either two Level Eight Monsters, or by using an Orcust Link Monster as material. Once it's Special Summoned, including outside of Xyz summoning, you can either attach a banished Machine Monster to it as material or send a card an opponent controls to the Graveyard.

This allows you to either recycle cards or get rid of a problem card that can't be destroyed or targeted. In addition, you can detach a card from it if any card you own would be destroyed to give your own field a ton of protection.

5 Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus

yugioh super quantum king magnus card art and text

Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus is a power Xyz Boss Monster that is one of the main reasons that Kaijus were popularized in competitive play. It requires a lot of effort to go into, but you are rewarded with a near-impossible Monster to get rid of outside of battle. With Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus' massive 3600 Attack, this is incredibly difficult.

This Xyz Monster can prevent any kind of card effect from affecting it and can shut down the opponent from adding cards from the deck to their hand.

4 Toadally Awesome

yugioh toadally awesome card art and text

Toadally Awesome is one of the main reasons that Frog decks entered back into the competitive scene after the death of Frog FTK. It only requires two Level Two Aqua Monsters to make, something Frog decks can easily accomplish. Toadally Awesome is an omni-negate, only needing to send an Aqua Monster to the Graveyard to use the negate.

Unlike other negates, Toadally Awesome steals the negated card, allowing you to use it yourself. This can completely flip the duel in your favor, especially if you negate a powerful card that wouldn't otherwise be in your deck.

3 Abyss Dweller

yugioh abyss dweller card art and text

Abyss Dweller gives a boost to other Water Monsters, but the real effect is the one it gets by detaching a material. When you do so, it completely shuts down any effect that activates in the opponent's Graveyard.

RELATED: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Best Waking The Dragon Targets, Ranked

Since so many modern decks need their Graveyard to function, completely turning off this aspect of the game for a turn is enough to win a game. The usefulness of Abyss Dweller shifts with the meta, but is always one of the best Xyz Monsters to keep in mind during heavy Graveyard metas.

2 Cyber Dragon Infinity

yugioh cyber dragon infinity card art and text

Cyber Dragon Infinity came out in the phenomenal Breakers Of Shadow set and pushed Cyber Dragons towards being a competitive deck. It can easily be made by overlaying it with Cyber Dragon Nova, or cheated out in other ways.

Cyber Dragon Infinity can negate any kind of card effect and destroy it by detaching a card from it. It can also steal an opponent's Attack Position Monsters to give it more options for detaching. It even gets a nice Attack boost from cards that are attached to it. Cyber Dragon Infinity is one of the most powerful Xyz Monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh!, and will likely stay that way for years to come.

1 Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS

yugioh Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS card art and text

Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS will likely never be made with the two Level 12 Monster requirements, but instead with the effect that allows it to be Xyz summoned with an Xyz Monster that attacked that turn. It's a fantastic field wipe that can be activated at any time by detaching two materials from it.

Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS is great because it can get rid of both Monsters and backrow if any are causing you trouble. It's very hard to get rid of as well, thanks to its massive Attack and Defense. Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus is miles ahead of the competition, and is the best Xyz Monster in Yu-Gi-Oh!
