The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and OCG have been popular since the 90's and developed a steady and loyal fanbase of players. Starting with cards that were made popular by the anime and manga (like Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician), there are thousands of different cards out there for players to use to create their own themed decks that suit their play style and even their personality. Here are a few that best represent the various members of the Western Zodiac.

12 Aries - Spiritual Fire Art - Kurenai

Aries is the first sign in the zodiac and the first of the fire signs. Their positions make them take charge, with the desire to be the "first". That firey determination often leads them to jump into things headfirst, without really thinking of the consequences.

The Trap card Spiritual Fire Art- Kurenai is a good representation of that "head-first" spirit, as you can use it to tribute 1 Fire monster and inflict damage equal to the tributed monster's original attack. With a Trap card like this, one might think it best to use with high-level monsters to take out their opponents quickly, but doing so can lead to trouble for them in hindsight.

11 Taurus - Redox, Dragon Ruler Of Boulders

Taurus is the most well-grounded and stable of the earth signs. Represented by the bull, they can come off as pretty stubborn in the worst situations, and dedicated in the best of situations. There is no other zodiac better suited to being a steady "rock" in times of indecision.

Which is why Redox, Dragon Ruler of the Boulders is a great card to represent Taurus. Not only does it have a pretty good attack power of 1600 and a hard to beat a defense power of 3000, but it also offers a number of special effects to get it and other powerful Earth Dragon Types onto the field.

10 Gemini - Totem Bird

The air sign Gemini is represented by the twins, which symbolize the two distinct personalities that Geminis often have within them. They can be fun one moment and serious the next and often go through life making new connections in an attempt to find the "other half" of themselves.

The Wind monster card, Totem Bird, captures that need others with its effects. Totem Bird is an XYZ monster, meaning it can only be summoned using two Level 3 wind monsters as "material". You can use the material cards to negate the effects of a Spell/Trap Card, but Totem Bird loses 300 attack points if it has no Xyz Materials attached to it.

9 Cancer - Umi

There is no better card to represent Cancer, the cardinal Water sign of the Zodiac than the Umi card. "Umi" means ocean/sea in Japanese, and just like the ocean, the lunar cycle controls the ebb and flow of a Cancer's emotional state, in ways that they can't always control.

Cancers are fiercely loyal to their friends and family. Just as loyal as the Umi card, that gives all Aqua, Fish, Thunder and Sea Serpent monsters on the field an extra 200 boost to their attack and defense. It also decreases the attack and defense of all Pyro and Machine monsters by 200.

8 Leo - Brotherhood Of The Fire Fist - Tiger King

Leo is the Fire zodiac that stands out among the others with its dominant attitude. Represented by the lion, Leos act like the rulers of the "jungle", moving forward in life with courage, confidence and charismatic energy around them that makes Leos natural-born leaders. So what better card for this firey zodiac than Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King?

Tiger King is one of the best cards in the Fire Fist series. It has a number of effects that will make it the "king" of any Fire Fist deck, like when it's summoned you set one "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap card from your deck, and you can negate the effects of face-up Effect monsters, among other things.

7 Virgo - Gaia Power

Virgo is one of the Earth signs and they are often very practical and kind individuals. They're represented by the Goddess, who searches for the good that exists within themselves, in other people.

Virgos have an affinity towards nature and all things natural, making the Spell card Gaia Power a good card to represent them. Just like Virgo's nurturing nature, Gaia Power can give all Earth monsters a 500 point attack boost, though it lowers their defense by 400.

6 Libra - Balance Of Judgement

Libra is represented by scales, which symbolize Libra's fascination with balance, justice, and equality. Libra is one of the more peaceful zodiacs, hating conflict, to the point that they will go to great lengths to avoid it. The Trap card, Balance of Judgement best represents the balance that Libras seek out in life.

The card is activated when your opponent has control over more cards than you have control over and in your hand. It lets you draw however many cards you need to have the same number of cards as your opponent.

5 Scorpio - Torrential Reborn

Torrential Reborn is a great card to represent the strong and adaptable nature that Scorpios possess. Scorpio is the sign that shows off the power of water. They're very passionate and determined in their goals, doing whatever to get what they want.

They're resourceful enough to make the best out of bad situations, just like Torrential Reborn. This trap card activates when an opponent destroys a face-up Water monster that you control. It allows you to Special Summon those destroyed monsters from your Graveyard, and also deal 500 points of damage for each of those monsters.

4 Sagittarius - Burning Spear

The Sagittarius is another Fire sign full of curious energy. They're represented by the Archer, with the bow as their open-minded desires to discover more about the world, launching them into the world, hoping to find meaning in whatever place they land.

The Magic card Burning Spear is a good card to represent Sagittarius, the firey projectile representing the passion that most Sagittarius put in their quest of discovery. Burning Spear gives any Fire monster that equips it an extra 400 point boost to their attack, though it decreased their defenses by 200.

3 Capricorn - Moutain

Capricorns are probably one of the most disciplined and serious signs of the Zodiac. They have the most control of themselves and their emotions and are great at making realistic and practical plans for their lives. However, that same discipline makes them rigid when it comes to facing things too far outside their comfort zone.

This Earth sign can be as strong-willed and unforgiving as a mountain, so the Mountain Spell card is the perfect card to represent them. Only monsters that are strong enough to make it to the peaks of a mountain (Dragon, Winged Beast, and Thunder), can benefit from the effects of this card, which gives a 200 attack and defense boost.

2 Aquarius - Heavy Storm

As an air sign, the Aquarius enjoys their freedom and doesn't like feeling contained by limitations. Aquarius' are known to be eccentric and energetic deep thinkers who see people for who they are without prejudice. And while they are one of the most giving and humanitarian of the zodiac, when their mood shifts they can be pretty aggressive and temperamental, like a storm.

And that is why Heavy Storm is a great card to represent this, uncompromising at times, zodiac. Heavy Storm is a powerful Spell card that shows no restraint. It destroys all Spell and Trap cards on the field, including your own.

1 Pisces - Toadally Awesome

Pisces are known for being one (if not the) most emotional sign of the zodiac. They are very in touch with their emotions but tend to keep their feelings to themselves. This often causes them to be explosively emotional, surprising those that are unaware of what lies beneath's Pisces' gentle nature.

The Water monster Toadally Awesome is like Pisces in that way, packing a lot under a benign-looking monster. Not only does it have an attack power of 2200, but it has multiple effects including, Special Summoning other "Frog" Monsters, negate Spell/Trap cards and monster effects and more.
