Earlier this week, we got our best look yet at The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom thanks to a new gameplay trailer which revealed Zonai tech, buildable boats, and a whole lot more. We also got a pretty in-depth tour of one of the game's new Sky Islands, and Zelda fans have been using this short gameplay trailer to piece together a part of Tears of the Kingdom's map, giving us a better sense of scale than we've seen so far.

First shared by u/teo_many to the game's subreddit (thanks GamesRadar), these players have been able to do this by using Breath of the Wild as a starting point, since the vast majority of Tears of the Kingdom is based in the same map. Then, using the minimap from the recent gameplay demonstration, these players have been able to pinpoint a fairly accurate location on the game's map for where this Sky Island is located.

The pieced together island was then brought down to scale using a combination of coordinates and magic, and then plopped on top of Breath of the Wild's map to give us a very good sense of size and scale. Of course, not all of the Sky Island from the demo was explored, so it's likely it'll be even bigger than what is depicted in u/teo_many's map. Still, it's very promising that just one of these islands seems to be roughly the same size as the Great Plateau from Breath of the Wild.

Thankfully, we don't have to wait too long before we get to explore these Sky Islands for ourselves, as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches on May 12 in just over a month's time. If you want to experience the new Zelda game in style, pre-orders recently opened up for a Tears of the Kingdom-themed Nintendo Switch OLED which launches on April 28.
