It's been quite the summer for former Duke Blue Devils star Zion Williamson.

Following the New Orleans Pelicans making him the No.1 pick in the NBA Draft back in June and inking a deal that could be worth $45 million over the next four years, the 19-year-old has landed himself the biggest ever rookie sneaker contract, having signed with the Jordan brand.

That's probably way more than Zion could have dreamed up a few years ago, but it's all come to reality, and his most recent exploits have also seen him sign a video game deal.

Game publishers 2K have announced that the new Pelicans acquisition has signed a multi-year deal to become a spokesperson for the company. This should mean that Williamson will be making appearances at in-game events, participate in social media shoots, and attend other 2K-related events.

“I’m excited to officially join Team 2K and be a part of this global phenomenon, where people around the world can play as me," he said in a press release. "I’m ready to put my imprint on basketball culture and be a part of the team that represents what’s next in the sport.”

Williamson is also set to make his NBA 2K debut in the upcoming NBA 2K20, which launches on September 6.

“It’s crazy. None of this will ever seem normal to me," he told the Associated Press at a party in Las Vegas that celebrates the game's release (via: NBA.com).

“When I put the CD in the console, I don’t have to create me as a player. I’m there as a player. That’s going to take some getting used to. This is not normal. I can’t even put it into words. I’m honored.”

A source familiar with Zion's deal told the AP that it will run for three years but, given that official details are yet to be released, said source asked to remain anonymous.

“You say things when you’re 5 years old like ‘Yeah, I’ll go to the NBA,’ but I’m really going to be playing against superstars this year,” Williamson added.

“LeBron, Kevin Durant the year after, Anthony Davis. I’m going to be playing with great NBA players like Jrue Holiday, players that I played with in this video game. That’s my new normal. I’m looking at something I’ve dreamed about and now it’s my normal life.”

Williamson is the most hyped No.1 pick since LeBron James, who was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. He's secured quite a lot of money without even bouncing a ball in the NBA, and if nothing else, he won't be paying for his copy of 2K20.
