Nazi zombies? Passe. But Nazi zombie sharks? Now you have our interest.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is the latest in Rebellion's long-running franchise. Initially a spin-off the successful and oh-so-satisfying Sniper Elite franchise, Zombie Army has since spun out into its own beast entirely. With a focus on co-op gameplay inspired by Valve's dormant Left 4 Dead franchise, the games allow players to splatter zombie brains with loving attention drawn to every fleshy, cranial chunk.
This time around, players won't just come face-to-face with the undead Third Reich. While franchise staples like a zombified Adolf Hitler will be returning, Rebellion is pulling out all the stops to keep things fresh. Chief among these is the preposterous, yet undeniably awesome zombie sharks.
Just in time to get you zombie fans in even more of the Halloween spirit, the newly-released trailer also shows off the expected blood, gore, and signature x-ray shots that players have come to know and love from the franchise. Oh, and zombie tanks, because if there's one thing Nazi zombies need, it's more weaponry.
The good news is that we'll be able to take the fight to the Nazis and all their new toys sooner rather than later, too. Zombie Army 4: Dead War will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows in a few months on February 4, 2020. It's worth noting that the PC release will be an Epic Games Store exclusive, though this isn't necessarily surprising. Rebellion previously spoke out on the divisive PC platform, calling it "fantastic" and stating that "we'll take some of that money, thank you."
And while there's no word on a Switch port, both Sniper Elite V2 Remastered and Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition have both found their way to the platform. It wouldn't be shocking to see Zombie Army 4 shamble onto Nintendo's platform at some point.
